I visualise a tall man lying prone at my feet. Just saying!

They told us 2m/6ft when it's in fact 6ft6", so an exceptionally tall man!

MissAdventure Wed 03-Jun-20 10:58:31

2 shopping trollies.

Two large paces is what my DH does and he’s never been more than an inch out!

Calendargirl Wed 03-Jun-20 11:05:13

Length of a coffin- sorry if this is morbid.

Grandmafrench Wed 03-Jun-20 11:07:14

Length of your bed.

Or two big paces, as per Mr pantglas

Wrist to armpit x 4

Tall man for me also!

And, á propos of nothing, my primary one teacher told us many, many moons ago, that Jesus was the only man ever to be exactly six feet tall!

Lettuce I agree with you I visualise a six foot tall man lying between me and other folk wink he’s needing a hair cut

It’s the length of a grave.
Also, a yard was the distance from a bowman’s nose to his outstretched finger tips. A metre is 3” longer and the bowman’s wife’s yard would be shorter.

Well I’m glad we all know what 2metres is as most people round here seem to think it is 2 feet

MiniMoon Wed 03-Jun-20 13:37:29

I imagine my brother in law lying on the floor. He is 6' 7".

PinkCakes Wed 03-Jun-20 14:10:23

Peter Crouch is apparently 6ft 7. I try to picture the length of a bed when I am near someone.

The most simplest way is door height
mick

bluebirdwsm Wed 03-Jun-20 14:44:25

I also imagine either one of my sons lying down...both over 6 ft.

Teetime Wed 03-Jun-20 15:10:43

I imagine my husband lying on the floor plus a little bit.

Our town centre and market square has been marked out all round with 2 metre spacing so easy to see there.

MissAdventure Wed 03-Jun-20 16:14:35

Lots of men on the floor, it seems. grin

Pantglas2 Wed 03-Jun-20 16:18:10

You’ll have heard the saying, They’re all the same length lying down, Missadventure?

welbeck Wed 03-Jun-20 16:23:47

mention of peter crouch reminds me of hearing him on a sports programme where various sports people were discussing their careers.
the presenter ended by asking, peter, what would you have been if you'd not been a successful footballer ?
quick as a flash, peter replied, a virgin.

Maggiemaybe Wed 03-Jun-20 17:14:20

Love that, welbeck! grin
