I am so very sorry. My computer has died on me. Am having to use MacS's and am in a bit of a pickle. Just wanted to open this new kitchen and try to catch up later.

Charleygirl5 Thu 11-Jun-20 13:29:01

Thank you so much- I only hope there is somebody who can revive your computer.

Susan56 Thu 11-Jun-20 14:01:18

Oh no,hope you can get the computer sorted soop??

Galen Thu 11-Jun-20 14:43:34

Wondered where you all were.

Susan56 Thu 11-Jun-20 14:53:02

Charley,my daughter hasn’t heard from the new dietician but after being contacted by the GP and the practice nurse assurances have been made that a call will be made very soon.Watch this space!

We haven’t been able to be seen privately as the clinic is still not open due to the virus but like you we are hoping that now that the GP has got involved the treatment from the hospital will improve and we can stay with the NHS.??????

Panache, glad you have finally had some rain and hope that by now your car has been collected for its service.

The torrential rain hasn’t materialised here so DH out in the garden again.

We are hoping to be able to book a slot at a local National Trust property when the slots are released tomorrow. We have visited both daughters in their gardens but haven’t been out shopping or anywhere else since mid March.I think it’s time we took tentative steps into the outside world again.

Bellanonna Thu 11-Jun-20 14:58:42

Susan, may I suggest you try to book as early as possible? I don’t know what time the NT release their slots but they do get snapped up very quickly. Good luck and enjoy whichever garden you manage to get a booking for I shall take my own advice and try again tomorrow, but earlier.

soop Thu 11-Jun-20 15:26:53

Buggerations galore! Four hours of faffin'. Naughty words and all that. MacS needs to use his computer and mine is in the graveyard. I've had to log on and change all my personal passwords in order to share a few minutes with you lovely lot. What's worse, all the photos I took since yesterday refuse to be uploaded so that I can share. *@$%! angry
Still haven't had time to read your latest messages. Hope to do so later.

Doodle Thu 11-Jun-20 15:46:33

Oh soop what a nuisance (please insert stronger words as you wish ?) .
Another kitchen. It’s a bit basic as you are unable to do much with your computer problems so I’ll just put in a quick online order for some soft furnishings and we’ll have the place all nice and cosy by the time you get back.
susan I echo Bellanonna’s advice those NT slots don’t stay available long. So glad your GP is involved in Henry’s care now. I hope he gets seen soon.
Any baking ready for the new kitchen yet Galen?

Pittcity Thu 11-Jun-20 15:52:58

I come bearing scones with jam and cream to bags my comfy chair.
Such a shame that this lovely new kitchen has started with a computer b********n Soop

Susan56 Thu 11-Jun-20 16:13:27

Thank you for the tip Bellanonna and Doodle.

Oh soop,what a buggeration?

I would love one of those scones Pittcity?

Lins1066 Thu 11-Jun-20 16:24:51

A new kitchen ?
I don't know about Flaming June, it's freezing outside. Pleased to see the soft furnishings Doodle, nice comfy chairs too, with no casters!
Hope your computer problems will be resolved soon soop.
Lovely scones pittcity

Sleep is a great healer Susan. Hope you get a NT slot, would love to go.

soop Thu 11-Jun-20 17:22:07

What a bloody awful, messy and frustrating day. I know beyond a shadow of doubt that I shall have one of my special dreams tonight. The one in which every step of the way from here to wherever is blocked and I am stranded.

MacS has phoned the computer man in the village. We're to leave my defunct appliance on his doorstep tomorrow. He will endeavour to fix or whatever with it. In the meantime, I have a few slots throughout the day when I have use of this machine.

I apologise for the scrappiness of my posts throughout the day. I am relieved that the kitchen is up and running. My love and all good wishes to you all. Let's hope that tomorrow is less stressful. smile moon flowers wine brew cupcake sunshine

Puzzler61 Thu 11-Jun-20 17:47:48

Ooh, a new Soop’s Kitchen. How marvellous. As you have the new furnishings are in the very capable hands of Doodle and Galen is probably flouring the baking tins right now for some baked delicacies, can I offer to supply flower arrangements for this new abode?
I don’t know the colour palette but I’ve selected the best blooms for the simple glass vase.
Soop as they said in the war “Keep Calm and Carry On”.

MawB Thu 11-Jun-20 17:51:20

Soop I feel your pain!
When t’internet is down or the computer says no, I too could scream.
I once saw a cartoon which said “Never trust a machine that you can’t throw out of the window and how I have felt that sometimes!

Charleygirl5 Thu 11-Jun-20 18:12:10

Puzzler thank you, those flowers are beautiful. Just what soop needs after the buggerations of today.

Galen Thu 11-Jun-20 18:12:45

I’m leaving a boiled fruit cake for your delectation. It does keep and store very well, but I doubt it will with all the gannets in the kitchen

Galen Thu 11-Jun-20 18:14:20

Might do some Cunard scones tomorrow after I’ve made my strawberry jam

Dreamkeeper Thu 11-Jun-20 18:17:21

Oh ye of little faith!!!
I knew that much sooner than later you would find a way to your kitchen Soop, but yes, I have been there more than once and the temptation to use some naughty words spring very much to mind...........and to discard same through the nearest window!!

The joy of stepping indoors and breathing in the familiar aromas, then enjoying the lovely new furnishings which are very much in keeping brought a smile to my face.
I bag the comfy chair(no casters for me either!) with its new tartan rug, complete with fringe!!
Next to Lins will do nicely.

Am not quite sure if we dare let our Doodle and Galen in charge of the baking tins, but I will await those filled baking tins for sure!!
The blooms are a bonus and bring the finishing touches Puzzler

Patience re the GP and all that I think is called for Susan
Hope you do enjoy a NT visit, certainly good advice as so many people are looking out for these new openings to visit .Our visit has been post poned, the darn garage people simply had forgotten they were due to pick up our car this morning...............blue smoke arising believe me!!!...........how can one "forget" when garages are doing so little having just re opened??!!

The rage you felt re your PC Soop was probably much like I felt on learning of such a lame excuse.

We shall be moved.............when......... is another matter!

Enjoy a pleasant and peaceful evening all.

Izabella Fri 12-Jun-20 09:38:08

Morning from a dippy and grey Shire. Birdsong just about discernable above the sound of men and tractors doing a sterling job outside. Oh and the cacophony of multiple chainsaws!!

Dreamkeeper - dear Panache. I so admire your ability to keep up with news and events in the kitchen.

Yesterday was CH's birthday (pictured here before dinner last night) and I managed a successful dinner party. The home made borscht was a particular hit. He had world wide phone conversations with family and friends and really enjoyed himself. I make an extra effort these days as one never knows how long I will remember him for ? This afternoon its a proper English tea party with the whole household plus two lovely neighbours. So I will leave any remnants of sherry trifle, black forest gateau, sandwiches, scones and fizz in the kitchen. I just hope all goes according to plan.

As ever my thoughts ~(however transient and discombobulated) are with all the residents of this wonderful kitchen. TOYA and flowers for all who need them

Izabella Fri 12-Jun-20 09:39:43

It is actually a DRIPPY Shire, but dippy is a word I am also very familiar with these days ?

dragonfly46 Fri 12-Jun-20 13:25:12

Oh Izabella I am sure your will remember your CH for a long time to come - he has the most wonderful kindly face. Happy Birthday to him - a Gemini like me.

Susan I am sorry that Henry is having to wait so long. Surely something must happen soon!!

soop I really hope your computer is up and running again soon. I would rather the car didn't start than my computer break!!

I heard yesterday that Dexter is much better. I attach a photo.

Charleygirl5 Fri 12-Jun-20 13:46:53

If Dexter needs cuddles this is the house for him especially as Tara does not appear until around 7 pm. Something could be arranged.

Susan words fail me (rarely!) but the way your DD, her DH never mind young Henry has and is being treated is nothing short of disgraceful.

If I were in that position, being the head dietician in charge and knowing the facts, Henry would be top of my list as a priority case. It is the "easy come, easy go" attitude which infuriates me. The hospital is rather fortunate that a solicitor's letter has not dropped on the doorstep there.

With luck, Henry will have had another good night's sleep. In some respects, it is a good job he does not understand.
TOYA
ps is he an only child?

Doodle Fri 12-Jun-20 14:20:37

izabella what a handsome man with a lovely face. Hope he enjoyed his birthday celebrations ?
Hope Henry is ok susan.
Have a good day all. ?

Susan56 Fri 12-Jun-20 14:39:59

Thank you for your kind posts regarding Henry. We have news.Yesterday my daughter got angry. Her complaint hadn’t been acknowledged and as you know no treatment forthcoming.

She is a psychologist and so professionally a dr.In all her dealing with Henry she is Mrs.Yesterday she put her professional hat on and wrote a very long email of complaint and sent it to the head offices of the health board bypassing the hospital.Within an hour her complaint had been acknowledged.Today the emails and phone calls have been coming thick and fast.

It seems cynical to think that by using the title dr she is suddenly getting the courtesy and acknowledgement of wrongdoing that she should have had two months ago but that is how it seems.

The Senior dietician has taken a full history and a follow up phone consultation and treatment plan are promised for Monday.Watch this space.

Charley,Henry has a big sister.

Dragonfly,I am so pleased Dexter is feeling better??

Izabella,I agree with doodle and dragonfly, your CH has a lovely and kind face.

In other news,I have booked us in for a slot at the local National Trust for 2pm next Friday. Our first official outing,I have a week to prepare for it?

Thinking of you all and hoping your computer can be fixed soop??

Lins1066 Fri 12-Jun-20 14:42:37

A very Happy Birthday to Mr Izabella for yesterday. He looks very distinguished and happy and so he should on his birthday.
The wind is playing havoc with the flowers and kidney beans in the garden, it has been a wonderful drying day for the laundry though, it's quite warm. I rescued a few sweet peas, a solitary rose and some honeysuckle which will smell beautiful this evening.
Dexter is better! Good news dragonfly a lovely photo.

It was my neighbour's funeral yesterday and I went to put a letter of condolence through the letterbox for her only son. He saw me through the window and invited me in! I declined but felt awful for doing so, we just chatted at a distance. Only ten people allowed at her funeral of course, so sad.

I have some caramel cake as my offering for the new kitchen, it is from an ancient recipe book I rediscovered the other day. I have taped " Gandhi " and am going to watch it with some cake and a cuppa. I remember taking some sixth formers to watch it in the Odeon cinema in Swansea in my probationary teaching year. They were nice kids, one became a researcher for Kate Adie.
