Good Morning all from Severnside where it is rather gloomy.

I did more than I planned yesterday and got my new screen door for the greenhouse finished. Now I will be able to move it without bits of rotten wood falling off. It’s just a homeworking day for me today. No other fun!

Have the best day you can everyone ?

Scentia Tue 30-Jun-20 06:21:01

Good Morning Mick and all to come from East Staffordshire. It is grey out there today. I have just come to the end of a 5 day run at my other job and our factory is super busy. I am having a few days off after this afternoon as I am having my DGS to stay for a few days.
I am just so excited to see him later today. I got him some new shoes and dungarees from a place called Trotters (Kate and Will like to buy from there!!) and the packaging was so cute I can’t stop showing people the picture of it. He will be dressed like a prince when we go out tomorrow.
Anyway you lot, take care of yourselves and stay safe.

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s another grey and gloomy if less windy start to our corner of Somerset. Bit more sleep last night so I’m happier today. Dust removal for us this morning, not sure what else. The days seem to fill themselves. Enjoy your family time scentia, take care out there mick. Hope marydoll is progressing - and being sensible. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very grey morning in Cheshire. At least its dry after winds and non-stop downpours yesterday.

I fear my days will seem incredibly dull just repeating that I'm working from home, but on the bright side it may mean I can at last replace my aging car. Better not let it hear that as it has started first time on the occasions I've just turned it over during lockdown.

Enjoy your days off with your GS Scentia, you've earned them. Take care on your bus trip Mick and anyone else out and about today. Happy for those able to see family again and as others with family too far away have said, our day will come.

Take care and continue to stay safe.

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ? where Himself has just set off for his walk. The swifts are circling and screeching outside the apartment over the gardens. There must be at least 20 of them!

Yesterday as we approached the beach we noticed quite a few Spanish looking out to sea and using their camera phones. They were all watching a pod of dolphins ?

Talking of pods/groups, it’s my ladies group ‘who wine’ this afternoon. Yay! My 85y old neighbour is coming again. Last week she looked like the invisible man as she was wearing a large sun hat, sunglasses, a mask covering her nose and mouth and plastic gloves. Suitably suited and booted she told me as we walked to the bar - only on the next block - that she intended just having the one G&T as a trial run. She must have felt safe because she stayed the whole session and ordered a second drink! Our complimentary tapas were delicious. Maria Carmen, the bar owner sets the bar high.

I’ll never be like a local. Last night I was locking up as we were preparing to turn in after we’d had a cuppa and ginger biscuits at 11pm. From our vantage point up here on the 6th floor we can look down into the gardens of the villas opposite (all high walled, gated, bougainvillea - you know the type - you can never see in from street level) and a family were sat round a large table against a wall, screened by a tree, the men wearing shorts and no tops, passing plates of food. Different cultures indeed! ?? ??. ?

Scentia that address label is so cute!
No sign of EllanVannin yesterday which is unusual. I hope she is alright?
Hello to you BlueSapphire if you are peeping - I do hope you are starting to feel a bit better?

Hope Tuesday is as much fun for you as I expect it to be for me. I love my LWW group - women do have the best laughs don’t they? Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from a grey and windy E Kent. Late because I had one of my bad nights; just don’t sleep. Never understood why. Siesta this afternoon.
The Christmas dinner went off well, (FYI We always have it in the evening). The turkey was delicious, the sprouts well done, pudding etc. Crackers went down a treat- new jokes one of which kept us entertained through the meal, trying to guess it. “What is the best Christmas present ever?” Oh, it was good to see my sons, (shame DD lives too far away). Aren’t they the best ever?
Tai chi and my old friends at a distance today.
Urmston we live behind a Portuguese/Greek family - they are just the same, dining at all hours outside.
Have a pain free, quiet, peaceful day. Stay safe.

Bellasnana Tue 30-Jun-20 07:13:20

Good morning all from Malta where the weather is ???

Scentia how lovely to be having your DGS to stay. I can imagine how excited you are.

I need to go to the shops today or else my poor dog will have nothing for his dinner! I ought to be up and out now before the heat really gets unbearable, but I’m still in bed.

We have had our ‘health emergency’ completely lifted now, although masks and hand sanitisers will continue to be compulsory in shops.

Wishing you all a good day, especially those of you feeling not so great. ☀️

Puzzler61 Tue 30-Jun-20 07:28:52

Good morning Mick and everyone. The grey skies are over Worcs. too. I could have slept longer this morning but my little tabby cat thought otherwise and I was treated to a lot of attention letting me know she would like early breakfast please. ?

This morning 2 friends are walking to my house for coffee and a chat. I’ve checked with them and they are happy to sit 6 feet apart on separate seats in our conservatory, with the double doors open to the garden, and I’ll sit inside the dining room, just off the conservatory. It’s not a comfortable temperature in the mornings to be sitting outside. How different from last week?

Scentiathat packaging is adorable - you can’t throw it away! I can only imagine how divine the little clothes are that you’ve bought your DGS. ??? Have fun when that little boy comes to stay.

Urmston your post this morning is as welcome as the Sun, well the next best thing. Your descriptions set the scene perfectly and we can all enjoy your life with you. Enjoy your “Ladies Day”. Good friends are just the best aren’t they? ☀️

Mick and anyone going out today - keep staying safe won’t you, and have a good day All ?

Good morning from the NE coast where we have yet another grey and dreary start to the day . At least the wind seems to have dropped a little bit but that’s about it. Still feels like late Autumn .

I spent the whole day in “that place that knows no sun” yesterday, trying to get my head around the new part time furlough rules etc. We still have no work but 5 good quotes out ....surely something must come good . ?

I’m so pleased to hear that your factory is doing well Scentia. I’m not sure exactly what it is you do but we rely on work being gradually fed down from the top tiers of industry so if they aren’t doing much , then we are doing less. It’s such a huge worry no wonder I’m not sleeping very well .

So glad your Christmas dinner went down well grandMattie.

Please send some of your sunshine over here Urms and Bellasnana it’s truly miserable .

Thinking of BlueSapphire and CrazyH’s young grandson , hoping for some good news soon.

I’m off a bit sooner today but will pop back later to catch up.

Have a good Tuesday everyone . Love Gillybob x

Good morning everyone from a very soggy Inverness. A boat is needed .... Had another downpour yesterday afternoon and it’s not really stopped since
Our back garden backs onto woodland and we’re lucky to have red squirrels visiting regularly, it’s lovely to sit by the window and watch. I’ll probably be doing that today and not much else, although I do have a regular online exercise class to get through later .... not quite the same as being at the gym though!
How lovely for you to be seeing your DGS scentia enjoy your special time together and you too urmstongran and puzzler with your pals !
Hope everyone has the best day they can and take care whatever the day brings

Pittcity Tue 30-Jun-20 07:37:03

Good morning from a grey but dry Colchester. The wind has dropped.
Spent yesterday cleaning the house, so will sit and enjoy it today. There is a pile of ironing.... I sometimes wonder how many people live here to produce so much laundry!

Urmstongran Tue 30-Jun-20 07:42:36

I do feel lucky to be out here enjoying all this gorgeous weather gillybob and I’d happily share it if only I could!
?

Of course the icing on the cake is that we are pensionistas with a fixed income every four weeks. That makes a huge difference in these uncertain economic times I must admit.

Urmstongran Tue 30-Jun-20 07:44:39

Oh Pittycity I haven’t had the ironing board out since I was at home in the U.K. 4 months now without picking up an iron. Says she with very low standards ...
?

Urmstongran Tue 30-Jun-20 07:45:12

Pittcity sorry.

gillybob Tue 30-Jun-20 07:46:31

I know you would Urms smile

Enjoy your days in the sunshine

Marydoll Tue 30-Jun-20 07:50:02

Good morning all from a not so pleasant Glasgow.
Stay safe on your bus journey, Mick.

Apart from my hospital visit, I haven't been out for a fortnight, so DH and I plan to venture out in search of the fishwife, who travels once a week from the East coast.
We never quite know where she will be.

That will be the only activity I will take part in today . I'm very impatient about my health improving, I was looking for miracles and none are forthcoming, just a load of side effects.
A day of rest for me. I know you are all sceptical, but I have lost my oomph! If you find it, please return it to me ASAP!

I owe a few people some replies to PMs, but please don't think I have ignored you.☹️. I will be in touch.

Grandmattie, so glad your family meal was a success and Scentia, you are correct about the packaging!?

For all our virtual friends who need our prayers and support. ?

Enjoy your day, whatever you are doing.

mumofmadboys Tue 30-Jun-20 07:50:53

We are meeting friends in North Yorkshire ( near Reeth) for a socially distanced walk and picnic today. Will be great to see them. Have a good day everyone.

Grammaretto Tue 30-Jun-20 07:56:04

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Sun's up here but not like Spanish sun.
I went to a non essential shop yesterday for cards and pens.
How lovely that you had your Christmas dinner grandMattie .
Yoga on zoom and a good long walk later.
Hope you all have a good day.

kittylester Tue 30-Jun-20 08:01:43

Good morning all from a grey, overcast North Leicestershire.

Lots of pootling and faffing today as well as putting the lounge back together.

Enjoy your days everyone.

Sar53 Tue 30-Jun-20 08:09:32

Good morning from a grey Essex by the sea. The sun from last week has well and truly gone ☹.
DH arrived home about 6.30 yesterday after his journey to Birmingham, he was very tired. He said the trains/tubes were not very busy and everyone was very respectfully social distanced and wearing masks.
I spent the day sorting out his office. I've left him a pile of stuff to go through but it now looks clean and tidy.
We have two big bags to go to the charity shop today. Lots of decluttering going on here. I can't wait to get started on the utility room which is packed to the rafters with more 'stuff'.
Have a lovely day everyone and stay safe xx

Gingster Tue 30-Jun-20 08:14:46

Good morning from a sunny but still breezy Suffolk coast. ?.we still have had very little rain and the garden is so dry with the wind and lack of rain.

Yesterday we had a run out in the car to very popular town along from the coast from us. I was surprised how few non essential shops were open and not many people about. This is usually a hub of activity and holiday makers. I’m sure it will be very different next week with easing of lockdown. We managed to get a portion of chips from the famous F and Chip shop there and ate them in the beach wall. Delicious!

Urmstongran enjoy your ladies get together. I really miss my friends and our catchups. There are about 12 of us who started off going to Pram Club when our babies were born. We then turned into The Young Wives Group and now we are Grannies luncheon Club. So we’ve been friends for 45 years plus. Can’t beat it!

grandmattie I’m so glad your Xmas dinner went down well. So lovely to have your boys together.

Scentia I love the package and little rhyme. Have a lovely time with your Gs, making memories.

Have a gentle day everyone. Look after yourselves. ?

Brunette10 Tue 30-Jun-20 08:17:00

Good Morning from a sunny Fife, at least for the moment. Will make the most of the nicer weather today. Back pain is almost all away after 3 weeks of hell, getting in and out bed not quite the same yet but def improving. May see DD and DGS's today as they have a visit from Nursery teacher with a present for DGS1, that'l so cheer him up, he likes his Nursery teacher. Other than that no exciting plans for today. Keep smiling everyone it's moving along. Take care.

Urmstongran Tue 30-Jun-20 08:25:04

kitty did you still like your carpet when it arrived yesterday?
?

Puzzler61 Tue 30-Jun-20 08:25:12

Marydoll your ‘va va voom’ will return.
Try to keep your feet up for the remainder of the week. You can do typing to keep in touch with all your friends or read or watch daytime tv but please give your body time to convalesce.
