Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey wet start here in Brackley this morning , nothing planned but a local shop today .
Yesterday , went to plan , in Buckingham , usual cafe stop and had a early lunch ,and then did a walkabout .
I did notice they are doing coronavirus tests in the Swan swimming pool car park on a daily basis done by the military.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is also wet and cloudy.

A few outside diy jobs to tackle today, luckily they will be undercover. After that some hoovering and dusting indoors as the picture quality on the tele is looking rather hazy ??

Have a good day all ? and for Scentia and her family ?

Good morning from EKent with an extremely welcome “moderate rain”.
Gosh, Mick, your life is being transformed! I’m so pleased for you.
Nothing much on today. Yesterday, we had the carpets on the stairs removed but the man refused to lay them! He said that because the new carpet was thinner than the old , all the skirting board thingies would look terrible as they weren’t painted to the edges. Had to call the painter to redo them. Both are perfectionists and would hate their work to look botched! So today the painter is coming to finish off. Goodness knows when the carpet will be laid. It is not a very elegant look!
To those in Spain, I don’t envy you one little bit, I really hate too much heat. Give me an English summer any time.
Peace and ease to those in pain, anxiety and sorrow, happy day to the others.

Morning Mick, morning All. Raining and breezy in our corner of Somerset. Those pop up testing sites are a reminder to us all to be careful I think mick. Disturbed night, been awake since silly o‘clock . Hope the rain stops for a planned trip out. Be gentle with yourselves everyone, stay safe.

Pantglas2 Wed 08-Jul-20 06:28:32

Morning Mick and all who follow - my body clock is all to cock with this hot weather so I’ve been awake for hours but enjoyed my chamberpot ☕️ on the cool patio while DH snored in the heat of the bedroom!

Off to weekly market a few miles away later and will arrange some hair appointments for the next few months with my travelling stylist - I’ve sooo missed her!

Sorry to hear about your DD disappointing news Scentia I’m sure you’ll put your own sadness to one side in your loving support ?. I think most families have had this happen and one never quite knows what to say - when a big hug would do the trick.

Will check in later and see who’s had celebrations or sadness - stay safe folks x

Good morning all. Off to Arnside today to meet friends for a walk. Should be a relaxing day.

Scentia Wed 08-Jul-20 06:59:45

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, a wet start to the day today.
I have deliveries to do this morning and I am also popping in to see my DD and DSiL and DGS to see if they are coping ok. Spoke to DD yesterday and she sounded tired. I hope DSiL is making sure she is resting. She will undoubtedly be interfering in his parenting of DGS? (I sometimes think, “let him be” as she does like to tell her DH the best way of doing stuff) He is only at home for 3 weeks at a time as he works offshore.
I booked DGS and myself into Thomas Land for this Friday so we are off out for the day, I just love spending time with him he is a cheeky delight, and so bright for a 14 month old, although DD is convinced he will never speak as he doesn’t say anything at all! I do encourager to relax about that as not everyone has something to say, unlike her who never shuts up?
Well folks, (ladies and gents!) You all take care today, laugh a lot, cry if you have to, but most of all look around and embrace this beautiful world we live in.❤️

brook2704 Wed 08-Jul-20 07:24:12

Good morning everyone from Inverness. Wow it’s the second dry morning in a row! No rain in the forecast for today either ?
I think I’ll be pottering about today, a bit of cleaning, a bit more gardening and a Tesco click and collect order to put away later.
Enjoy your time on Friday with your DGS scentia I’m sure you’ll both have a wonderful time at Thomas Land. My eldest DGS was also later to start talking and my DD worried endlessly about him. Fine now though and a real chatterbox
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is coming this morning so I'd better get going. I have a Zoom Carer's session this morning, the new tv cabinet is being delivered this afternoon and Rishi is doing his thing at lunchtime. It's all going on!

Scentia, I hope your daughter is ok. It's horrid when our children are in pain.

Sar53 Wed 08-Jul-20 07:33:48

Good morning from a wet Essex by the sea. Our communal garden needs the rain, the grass looks like straw.
DH has to meet an ex work colleague this morning to hand over some paperwork, I have a tea loaf to make.
Washing to do and some phone calls to make.
Have a good day and stay safe xx

NfkDumpling Wed 08-Jul-20 07:36:07

Morning All

And they wonder why the British talk about the weather all the time! Not much rain here yet, it looks like it should, but passes over to give someone else's garden the benefit.

I think I'll bury myself in the Mirror and the Light this morning and see what the afternoon brings.

May your days be as good as they can be Everyone.

Urmstongran Wed 08-Jul-20 07:51:42

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another gorgeous day ahead ? (good job we’re all different grandMattie!).

Off to the beach in a couple of hours. Himself has cut down on his brisk walking days now it’s the hottest weeks of the year and decided he isn’t going on beach days. That means he is generally fussing about in the apartment now being ‘Mr. Organised for the Beach’.
?
I wonder how I managed beforehand …

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Well done you Mick for striding out and about and getting into the ‘new normal’with enthusiasm and confidence. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Kalu Wed 08-Jul-20 07:54:17

Good morning all from a dry, calm Glasgow. I know the sun is up there but all it is doing is lighting up the clouds in front of it.

GD1 is 15 next month. Can believe how quickly the years have flown. Anyhoo, we asked for her birthday wish list and fortunately I will be able to shop on line for her wishes. A task for today.

Washing on to be hung out later and some tidying up in the garden and potting up some rocket and tomato plants for DD.

have a pleasant day all and best wishes for those who are going through difficult time.

Marydoll Wed 08-Jul-20 07:57:20

Good morning all from Glasgow, at least it's dry after yesterday's rain.

Planning to do a bit of pottering in the garden, but showers are forecast.so I will be trying to dodge them.
I had planned to strip the bed, but I can't be bothered, so leaving it until tomorrow. I don't have enough oomph to do it, as I was awake half the night coughing.
DH never stirred and at one point I had to prod him to check he was still alive. How do men manage to sleep through everything? ??

Hopefully we will be able to pop up to see DDG and chat in their drive. DH is able to have a hug, but I'm still not allowed.
It seems her naughty brain ( her words) alter ego manifested itself yesterday and she needs a firm talking to! Mummy and daddy were at their wit's end, as daddy, who is working from home, is preparing things in advance of Phase three being announced.
I gathered he was rather stressed when he sent us a video of her, justifying her behaviour ! That four year old is destined for great things in Parliament.?
However, I do not believe a word of it. My DDG is an ?

I'm going to gloss over the beer ? making fiasco yesterday. All I will say is that the kitchen and utility room were out of action for nearly six hours and nothing much to show for it.!?
His brand spanking new beer making thermometer was faulty. So having given up trying to explain to him that the very cold mess liquid he was left with, certainly didn't match the temp reading on the thermometer, I resorted to using a medical, digital one! wink
Unfortunately it was dead.☹️ After getting a watchmaker's screwdriver from my craftroom and a using watch battery from Poundland, I got it working. I was exhausted, as this was all done between bouts of coughing!!
Never again!!! ?

Those of you with plans today, enjoy! Hugs for all who are struggling. ?

Puzzler61 Wed 08-Jul-20 07:57:40

Good morning Mick and all who follow. It’s a very green and soggy garden I’ve just looked at when I opened the curtains. I’m in Worcs. - no sight of the Malvern Hills this morning as they are temporarily shrouded in cloud.

kitty thank you for reminding me Rishi is “doing his thing” at lunchtime. At the risk of sounding sexist ( Mick, please close your ears) I do find him engaging to listen to and easy on the eye ?

My sister is visiting this afternoon so I’ll get some strawberries and cream ready for us. We can watch some Wimbledon tennis together, like we usually do. Not quite the same as the matches aren’t live, but it is the next best thing.

Scentia ongoing fond wishes to you and your daughter, ? it will take a while but you do get over the pain you’re all feeling now. I hope that doesn’t sound trite, but I went through similar before I got my DC.

Stay safe everyone and have the best day you can ?

gillybob Wed 08-Jul-20 07:59:47

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another autumn day . Yesterday reached the dizzy heights of 13.5 degrees .

give me an English summer anytime too Grandmattie.....please ? grin the weather here in the North East has been horrible for the last month not like any kind of summer at all.

I had little Evie Buttons all day yesterday . She’s such a delight but very hard work as she never stops. No naps, just go, go, go, all day long .

I was so sorry to hear about your DD Scentia lets hope she is managing to get some rest and let her DH take the reigns for a while . flowers My DGD2 was a late talker and even when she did start talking it was gobbledygook. She’s 12 now and is very clever and articulate . Some children just take a bit time to get going ....but when they do they never shut up.

I’m off to “that place” in about an hour for 7 hours of thrills and excitement . Praying that today will be the day we get “that order” . I will do my dads big shop on the way home .

Thinking of those feeling sad, poorly or just a little under the weather. Glad to see CherryCezzy back. Have a good Wednesday everyone smile

Love Gillybob xx

Good Morning from a dull but dry Fife, quite chilly. Meeting DD and DGS's today for a time in our local park, seems an age since we did that and so looking forward to it. DH remaining at home as plasterer is along today. Mess!!!! However it 'can't be helped. Puzzler61 I so agree with you re Rishi, he is always turned out top spec, find that very attractive in a man. His shirts are soooo white wink. Hope everyone has a good enough day, look after yourselves.

Mythbirtthedragon Wed 08-Jul-20 08:09:01

Good morning from east London, wet outside and unless it stops and the sun with a drying wind replaces it, my tennis at 9.30 will be off. We’d also planned to do something with DD and the girls today; it may involve getting wet. I keep forgetting GD is still ‘at school’, with 4 google classroom sessions, so anything we do can’t happen til mid afternoon.
Hope you have a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 08-Jul-20 08:20:16

Good morning Mick and all x

Grey and drizzle here in S E Essex. Please can you share some of your sunshine from France and Spain ladies ?

I am a very happy lady as I have managed to get a cancellation with the oven man and he is coming this afternoon. When the range is all gleaming inside and out I am very reluctant to use it ?

I do have a few aches today, self inflicted due to the exercise session in our park yesterday but I must try and get back into an exercise routine if not I will need a new wardrobe of clothes for my expanding waistline.

Take care and keep safe folks ?

Gelisajams Wed 08-Jul-20 08:20:20

Good morning from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. It’s not raining so we are off to Keswick to do some gardening! Take care and stay safe everyone ?

grandMattie Wed 08-Jul-20 08:35:23

I have to justify my love of English summers ? I was brought up on a small, claustrophobic tropical island where it was hot or hotter. Two seasons “la grande saison de petites pluies et la petite Saison de grandes pluies” - the long season of light rain and the short season of torrential rain. I rest my case.
So the temperatures and rain of a summer her, in the south east, suit me down to the ground.
Sorry, all those who are cold and wet.

BladeAnnie Wed 08-Jul-20 08:36:05

Good morning all from a dull and drizzly mid-Notts. I just let his Lordship the cat out and 5 minutes later he's back - too damp for those delicate little paws!! Mr BA just brought me a cuppa - then I want to change the bedding, make a corned beef hash and finish the online shop for delivery tomorrow. Not necessarily in the order!! Hope everyone has the best day possible and, as always, stay safe x

GrannySomerset Wed 08-Jul-20 08:37:42

Early start by our standards as off to visit our lovely local curtain maker’s showroom to choose fabric for curtains for two bedrooms - the only ones we haven’t replaced in our five years here. DH is fortunately not keen on a wet, grey, dismal morning and has decided not to come with me (hurrah!) so I am glad about that.

Otherwise nothing on the agenda apart from a couple of phone calls but will have had enough excitement for one week with haircut and fabric selection.

Nortsat Wed 08-Jul-20 08:44:18

Good morning Mick (it’s nice to hear you’re getting back to normal) and the GM team, from a grey, drizzly east London.

My partner is at the garage, waiting for our mechanic to turn up for our scheduled service. There’s currently no sign of him.

Having done several hours of gardening at the weekend, the plants will be enjoying an unrestricted drink.

We watched the JB Priestly play ‘An Inspector Calls’ last night on television and both thought it oddly relevant to today.

Good wishes to Scentia and family. Hello to Bluesapphire if she’s reading. Good thoughts to those struggling and facing challenges. Have a nice day all ?

Gingster Wed 08-Jul-20 08:47:08

Good morning all. After saying yesterday ‘ I always wake up to sunshine’ , guess what? Yep rain, murk and mist. I don’t mind in the least as we haven’t had much rain here in Suffolk at all, and it makes a refreshing change. Sorry Gillybob !

Got up early today as I think I’ve strained my back and stomache muscles pulling up hedge roots. Kept me awake ! I said to DH my stomache seems swollen . He readily agreed ??.

Another thing keeping me from sleep was the thought that the septic tank was being emptied today and they always arrive early. I got dressed and moved the car in readiness and took DH up a cuppa . Then he tells me ‘No it’s not today, it’s tomorrow, . He put the wrong date on the calendar! ?. I laughed (not).

Scentia I agree this is a beautiful world ?. We must look after it.

My friend is coming for afternoon tea and I will ask my neighbour in too. We might have to sit in the summerhouse as I don’t think it’s going to be warm enough for outside chatter. What shall I bake? Maybe a lemon drizzle cake. ?

A pleasant day wished for all, try to find pleasure in all you do. ?
