Good morning from a clear bright E Kent. The sun is about to rise so we have pearly colours.
Hope you enjoy your morning, Mick. Did you get your map in the end? And now the excitement of the Jura in the TdF. My lot Have no fewer than four rugby union matches today. I shan’t see them nor be allowed in the sitting room,
To celebrate getting his Indian work visa, DS1 took us out to dinner at a newly refurbished restaurant in ?Sandwich. It says it’s Sort of Spanish. Interesting, delicious food, but not terribly Spanish despite being called “Tan Bueno”. It was the first time I’ve been out to dinner for a couple of years.
Nothing to do today, so might go over some of my Spanish grammar before classes recommence, over zoom.
Those who are sad or sick, have a gentle day, be kind to yourselves. Stay safe everyone.

Morning everyone, pitch black here in south Cornwall. That sounds lovely Mick, a visit from your sister. Have a good time. My window is open by my bed and I can hear the Saturday market stalls being constructed, the faint clanging of poles going up, strangely comforting as that's where my favourite bookstall is. Last week I bought a retro book on crop circles!

Well, I'll finish the kiddy throw today and thrill you all with a photo tomorrow. Keep your excitement under control. gringringrin The best of days to all, where possible.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Feels like it will be a warm day today. Dog has been walked and I am off to work for a 48hr shift shortly.
Mick do enjoy your time with your sister. I think this is the last stage of the tour isn’t it, just the parade on the Champs Elysees are they still going that, what with covid and all?
I am getting worried that my holiday with DD and DGS next week will be cancelled. I think there will be an announcement on Tuesday and if we are back in lockdown our break in the 28th will be cancelled. I am sure we will find something enjoyable to fill our days with if it is, as I am still having my time off work whatever.
Take care everyone and stay safe ❤️

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry and grey with swiftly moving clouds.

A little bit of cleaning today and possible some planting then a read of my new magazine.

Fingers crossed for your holiday Scentia. I’m doing something with my daughter tomorrow and thinking I may not be able to see her for a while in the near future. She is my bubble if they will still be allowed. It’s making me feel a tad anxious so I’m telling myself to calm down and wait and see.

On that note take care and stay safe all and enjoy the sunny days ?

12Michael Sat 19-Sep-20 07:09:56

Scentia , your right despite covid , they do have checks team wise plus race staff , a few weeks ago the race director was found positive and isolated for 7 days after now back in charge of race .
Champs Elysees tomorrow its a parade in away with the sprinters fighting out the last 8 laps .
Considering we have probs in Uk as to tests etc , people involved with sport internationally are tested without any problem , but unsure whether have watched the race on TV you saw crowds at roadside

Gingster Sat 19-Sep-20 07:11:19

Good morning all from a calm and bright start to the day. I think next weeks weather will be more like it’s supposed to be for this time of year. We’ve had such a lovely summer and autumn up to now. So can’t complain.

Today we have family coming in groups of four, which will make six with us. ! ?. cant all get together for a joint celebration. Eldest Gd off to uni tomorrow and youngest Dg’s 5th birthday. They will come at set times to avoid the next group. How ridiculous!

Little pooch had her x rays yesterday and nothing untoward was revealed, thank goodness. I really didn’t want her to have surgery unless absolutely necessary. Her limp should gradually ease as long as she keeps to gentle walks and no chasing balls. (That ain’t gonna happen) . She is a high energy cockerpoo who you can’t keep still. ?

Hopefully all your breaks away will go ahead. We need these little changes of scene to keep us sane. Something to look forward to. ?

I’m still hoping to go away to the Norfolk broads with our usual group of friends, mid October. We’ve been doing it now for many years. DH doesn’t want to come this year, but I’m still keen to go. My 2 brothers go, one with his wife, one without, so I will travel with them and have a jolly time.

Have a lovely time with your sister, Mick.

Best wishes to all. Hope your day is pleasant. That’s all we can hope for. ?

Jaxjacky Sat 19-Sep-20 07:13:55

Good morning Mick and all. Still a slight wind, sky clearing for the sun in S Hants, we really need some rain, but non forecast until mid next week.
Husband playing golf later this morning, I need to link mobile with car computer - today’s challenge, then start tidying up the back garden, after I’ve read the paper, my weekend treat. Used to get one every day when I was working! Have a peaceful day all, especially those struggling. X

Good morning all from a greyish North Leicestershire.

Thank you for your condolences yesterday. My son in law and his brothers are still in shock that this happened so quickly.

I am going to the hairdressers again today as I feel I need to have more colour added. Then I have a curry to make before we go to a neighbours for garden drinks. Meanwhile, DH will watch the football. grin

Enjoy your days everybody and, as always, thinking of our missing friends.

Pantglas2 Sat 19-Sep-20 07:22:38

Morning everyone from a cool north Wales ???????- I don’t mind as long as it’s dry as I have some washing to do this morning before tackling some filing of 10 weeks post! Most of it went in the bin but insurance, tax and bank need keeping!

Look forward to seeing that throw Mellowyellow - all you crafters put me to shame as I did quite a bit years ago but have since lapsed ?

Hope there’s a good weekend in store for everyone, weather and t’otherwise x

Sark Sat 19-Sep-20 07:27:45

Good Morning from Oxfordshire.
Feels like it will be another warm day.
Looking forward to seeing the grandchildren today.

Taichinan Thank you for your message 're DD2 headaches.

Good morning Mick and all

Another nice day here, one of our sons is popping round this afternoon with wife and two GSs which I am looking forward to. Other than that it will be a quiet day.

Thinking of gillybob and other missing posters ???

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Good Morning from a cloudy but still very warm Black Country.

My friend popped round to sit in the garden with us yesterday. It was a gloriously sunny day and we chatted for over 3 hours. I have known her since we were 18, and after me living in various parts of the country, we now live less than 10 minutes walk from each other. Sadly her DH died 16 years ago, and she has been on her own since then. Her 3 boys and 4 grandchildren keep her busy though!

Worried as Mum lives in Wolverhampton, and they are tightening restrictions from Tuesday. I made her my support bubble a couple of months ago, but not sure now if I can visit or not? I had planned a BBQ in garden tomorrow as it's my birthday, but same as Gingster family will have to come over at staggered times. Hopefully one day we can all be together as a family again.

I plan to make my Delia Smith Breakfast Baps today, and possibly cut the lawn.

I have not been to the hairdressers since before lockdown Kitty. I must go soon as it is getting quite long now, and harder to manage.

Wishing you all a good weekend and hoping the weather stays sunny for anyone wishing to meet family outside.

Sar53 Sat 19-Sep-20 07:35:15

Good morning everyone from a sunny Essex by the sea. We have had a lovely summer and autumn in the East, very little rain and lots of sun.
Our usual Saturday morning walk, stopping for coffee. A lazy afternoon and we are booked into a local pub for dinner this evening. Perfect day.
It looks like the dreaded virus is on the rise again, I'm sure there will be many more local lockdown as we move towards winter. Not a pleasant prospect.
On a brighter note have the best Saturday you can, look after each other and stay safe xx

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it promises to be another beautiful autumn day.
We’re going out walking in the hills and mountains in the Cairngorms today near Glenmore, it’s not that far from Inverness so we go quite often. A picnic lunch planned by one of the lochs and then maybe a coffee and a cake in the forest visitor centre to round off the day ?
So pleased you got home safely Pantglas , sorting out the mountain of post though is my least favourite task after a holiday and 10 weeks worth worth must be bad!
Sounds like you’re going to have a busy but good day mick - enjoy!
Thinking of everyone feeling poorly today or with worries and struggles, take care everyone whatever the day brings ?

brook2704 Sat 19-Sep-20 07:43:15

Happy Birthday grandmabatty enjoy your special day!

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another warm dry day here.
A quiet weekend of this and that. No firm plans except sitting in the garden this evening with a glass of red and bbq for two to make the most of the weather while it lasts.

Happy Birthday Grandmabatty?

Good morning all, it's a beautiful, sunny morning here in Glasgow. I think a day outside is the plan.
DD and SIL will be visiting, so they will be able to sit outside, as we are not allowed anyone in the house here.

DD has asked for me to make Mars Bar cake for her, so I had better get busy! I used to make it for her colleagues before Covid, so it's ages since I have made it.
She once entered it in a baking competition at work as joke to impress her colleagues, they think she is totally undemesticated, it won and she had to come clean and say it was mine.

Kitty, I was sorry to hear your family's sad news, Sark, I hope your poor daughter's headaches ease and as for Pantglas, glad to read you are home safely to cause more trouble on GN.?

Yesterday's visit to Sainsbury's was really not enjoyable at all. I had been so looking forward to my solo trip. Despite going out early, it was so busy, with people blatantly disregarding social distancing.
The trolley bay is very big at the front door, but despite no other customers, one lady came up beside me and started pushing me out of the way, saying Excuse me, excuse me..... She was determined to get a trolley before me.

I could feel her touching my arm, as she tried to get her trolley. My anxiety levels started to rise as I thought that after months of shielding, my health could be compromised.
I'm ashamed to say, ? I was very sharp with her and lectured her about following the 2 metre guidelines and the fact that we are in a Covid hotspot. She looked at me as if I was talking a foreign language. Previously, I would have just kept quiet, not wanting to cause a fuss.

There was a queuing system with everything clearly marked, where to stand ecetera, but the next thing I realised she was right beside me again, pushing past to get into the store, while I sanitised my trolley.? That is until the security guard sent her straight back outside to wait with everyone else.
Thank goodness it was a one off, however I will be going back to online deliveries from now on. ☹️

When I got home, there was a letter waiting from the Govscot shielding people. My heart sank when I saw the familiar envelope.?
Inside, was a list of what I can do or not do at the moment.. Basically, not much I can do safely, but a least I'm not back to shielding just yet! Phew!!

Thinking of all our absent friends and wishing you all a pleasant day.

Sun’s up here again ? after all the rain yesterday!
Good morning everyone from Malaga where the BBC website states we have 28°C today. Lovely. We are definitely autumnal though as the mornings and late evenings are cooler now.

Sheets are in the washer. We are on a new electric tariff. The supplier we use has just introduced 2 free hours every day and so I selected 9am till 11am. I shall enjoy a second cuppa then jump in the shower and wash my hair (drying takes longer now my hair is shoulder length) - I’m glad I only need to wash it every 5 days! I pin it up during this hot weather. I quite like it - it looks softer and less severe as I’ve gotten older. The free electric makes me get a wiggle on.
#lazygran
Himself is delighted!
?

We plan a walk up into Arroyo de la Miel for coffee, people watching and I want to call in at ‘Lorca’ a lovely, well stocked independent bookstore. I would like to buy a ‘Moleskin’ journal/jotter. Not too big as I like to carry one round with me to ‘jot down’ my thoughts or reminders. I like the magnetic catch on them - I ❤️ buying stationery! Arroyo will be buzzy this morning in the sunshine.

We haven’t been up there for a couple of months. July was our beach month, August just the gardens, but now it’s a tad cooler I’m looking forward to strolling about a bit more.

Many happy returns of the day to you Grandmabatty ??

Hope Saturday is good to us all whether we have any plans or none. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Morning, lovely sunny morning here in S Lanarkshire. Supposed to be going out for lunch with DD2 and 10 year old granddaughter, first time ‘dining out’ since February but feeling a bit nervous and unsure the way things are going. Have to make up my mind soon, maybe better to stick to her garden. Have a good day everyone and Happy Birthday to Grandmabatty
