May I suggest this as a diversion from everyday worries

This happened in 2006 in the Netherlands. Hundreds of horses were stuck on a small raised area after flooding of fields. Different rescue tactics were tried but failed . 7 horsewomen decided to try a different approach and it was wonderful to see. The footage is not good quality. But it is definitely worth watching. In my opinion!

These women didn't want publicity and the whole event was largely missed by the world

Eight minutes well spent. I was nearly in tears, especially as I'm a lifelong horse lover. Thanks, Lucretzia

Oh I've seen this before but it was wonderful to watch it again. So very moving - those horsewomen deserved a medal each for what they did!

I’ve just watched this and it was wonderful to see the horses being saved. I love horses so much. The women riders and all the people who helped were incredible too. Thank you for posting it Lucretzia.

Lovely to know that there are such good people in the world. A heart warming film, you'd have to be pretty hard hearted not to shed a tear.

I have shared with the horse-adoring young ones in the family.

It's a perfect piece for this clip, isn't it?

It's called Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis

Why so many horses I wonder.

oryx1 Thu 26-Nov-20 10:58:22

Absolutely brilliant. Bought me to tears...

Not much moves me to tears, but this really did! Very teary eyed right now.

The Vangelis music was from the film 1492- Conquest of Paradise, which really stirs the emotions too.
