Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark , but dry , cold and frosty out there in Brackley this morning .
Plans for the day , will have a frying pan fry up for a change to my routine , usually cereal but a change is just as good .
I have started to use stock of food ,and some pre made up meals from the freezer ,as though this lockdown made me create some meals .
The usual Chinese which I normally have , will be down to the weather today , as staying in the warm is more inviting .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from an overcast E Kent.
It’s a good idea to have some stores in readiness for emergencies, Mick. We have a “stash” under the stairs.
I made 60 pots of marmalade yesterday. It was a mistake, my back was so painful at the end that I could barely walk by evening. It’s better this morning.
Hope there is some sunshine ☀️ in your lives today. Stay safe.

Morning Mick and all who follow from a chilly and frosty south coast.-0.6c just now.

We have a click and collect at Tesco between 8am and 9am so will need to defrost the car even though DH put an old bedsheet over the windscreen last night. It is surprisingly good at keeping the ice off but the rear and side windows will need scraping. I hate winter!

Tried the Parsley Box meals yesterday with mixed reviews. They were tasty but portions were minute. DH could probably have eaten three of them and I could have managed two. Will definitely need additional veg and carbs to make a decent size meal.

Report from DD is that DGS still has a temperature and is quite unwell but she and DSiL are slowly improving. Still coughing and tired but feeling more confident of recovery.

Enjoy your fry up Mick. I prefer a well done bacon butty myself!

Keep safe and keep warm everyone. We will get through this. Spring is on its way. sunshine

Good morning to one and all from a chilly but dry Torbay.

Mick: after my heart event a year ago, I was told that an occasional fry up was permitted, preferably no more than once a month. Alcohol in moderation with three or four days abstention in between. I find the latter easier to abide by here than when in France. The price and quality of wine (and naughty DH!) make it very tempting!

Last night, I enjoyed “Would I Lie to You?” on BBC 1 and found myself laughing out loud at one point! Lee Mack is so quick and David Mitchell is droll. Past shows may be seen regularly mid evening on Dave.

Yes, Gagagran, it’s lovely to see signs of Spring to give us all hope for a brighter tomorrow. ?☀️?

Morning Mick and all....snowed again overnight here in Bolton..been awake since 'silly o'clock '....can feel a fight with myself coming on to keep one of Scentiassmiles on my face!
⚘⚘for all who have worries or are poorly..keep safe ?

Good morning from Cumbria! It is dark, cold and dry at the moment. Slept well till 3.45 and have been wide awake since! Have had 2 cups of tea, written a long e mail, done the ironing and put a wash on. Going out cycling once it is a bit lighter. Will probably need a sleep this afternoon! Have a peaceful and happy day everyone. Special thoughts to those with illnesses and worries.

Good morning Mick and all from a frosty S Hants, got up as the heating hadn’t kicked in, so I’ve put it on, something to look at later. We’re eating odd bits from freezer tonight, husband chicken and me liver as he’s gone off it, got some lovely greens delivered the other day, so I’ll have some of that. A walk if the ice goes, I’m increasingly aware of it as I age, no slip ups needed at the moment!
Have a safe day all.

Good Morning everyone from frosty Severnside. I think if we put on one of Scentias smiles and stepped outside it would be frozen on for the day.

Gagagran day I had two Parsley Box meals about an hour apart as I was still hungry. I do feel they have a place though as they are easy to store and probably good if you feel poorly. I’m thinking I might get a box each winter.

I’ve been watching some of the old WILTY. I don’t know what funny thing I was watching one day and I laughed out loud, then thought that was so good to hear, the sound of my own laughter whilst on my own. I had a laugh at the kiss chase yesterday ?

My dentist is now doing routine appointments so I made one yesterday. It’s not for a couple of months and I’m ok about that because although I’m confident of care and precautions they will have in place I’ve still got a bit of that ‘frightened of the dentist’ feeling left from olden days.

I’ve messed up my prescription online order service and don’t really know how to fix it. I’m going to wait until life is more like we used to know and ask at the surgery. In the meantime I’ll email my request to them.

Take care and stay warm and safe all ?

Good morning all from a frosty Derbyshire. I've just been out for a walk and it's starting to snow. Hopefully not too much.

I think I'll stay in the warm for the rest of the day as I'm not on ? duty today. Yesterday I was pushing a wheelbarrow up and down a muddy field transferring bales of hay from one store to another. I think I've pulled a muscle in my shoulder as it's been painful since.

Hope everyone had a good night and Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning from Shropshire where it’s a very chilly start.

DH loves a fry up.I don’t like the smell but now the idea is there will suggest he has one today. He always used to call Friday, fry day as I started work early so he could fry to his hearts content knowing the smell would be gone by the time I got home!

Up early as got a chap coming to look at the roof at 8am.A large chunk of cement landed on the patio during the torrential rain the other day.Still pitch black so not sure he will be able to see the roof.

Hoping that Cherry and Mary are feeling better.

Thinking of all with illness and worries?

Kalu Sat 23-Jan-21 07:43:19

Good morning all from Glasgow. Still dark and frosty outside but a sunny day is forecast although too cold to footer about outside.

The usual performance of giving the cat her flea treatment. She seems to sense it’s that day again, does everything to avoid us until eventually DH manages to pick her up and I can then apply her treatment which doesn’t bother her. Goodness knows what she thinks we are going to do to her but it’s the same performance every month. ?

Choices from the to do list will be ticked off and give me some small sense of achievement. ?

Have a pleasant day all.

Sar53 Sat 23-Jan-21 07:43:58

Good morning from a damp and cold Essex by the sea. We are forecast snow tomorrow ❄❄❄.
I had a much better night and I'm trying to stay positive and look to a brighter future.
We will have a brisk walk later and I'm sure there will be some kind of sport on tv for DH this afternoon.
DD1 facetimed yesterday as all 3 girls wanted to talk to me. So nice to see their faces. I'm attaching a picture that Carys aged 9 drew. I was very impressed with it.
Have a pleasant Saturday and stay safe everyone xx

Morning all from a cold but dry south Cornwall. Feel like I've run a marathon and then been put through a meat grinder after the grandchildren came yesterday. The 5-year-old studiously informed me about several sources of calcium, and how to tell a chameleon from a gekko. Ha ha. How they grow up...

I agree that the Parsley Box meals are small. For me, not being very mobile till I get new hips, they're adequate, but maybe not if I was moving around more. Talking of hips, haven't seen Annsixty recently, or maybe I've just missed her posts. Hope you're ok Ann.

A TV and knitting day today, easy does it... Hope your day is bearable, everyone.

Viridian Sat 23-Jan-21 07:54:24

The painting is beautiful Sar, lovely use of colour. Clever 9-year-old.

brook2704 Sat 23-Jan-21 07:59:10

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we had a bit more snow overnight but a dry clear sunny day is forecast for later.
I’m missing getting out in the garden so as soon as the snow eventually goes I’ll be out there looking for signs of spring... to keep me going I’ve got some indoor bulbs well on the way on the kitchen windowsill which I enjoy watching grow a bit more every day
Sounds like you’ve been very busy already momb enjoy your cycle later...
Hope your shoulder is soon better beauregard and your Dgs feels better soon gaga
I’ll probably just go for a local walk today - yes I know I say that every day!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmafrench Sat 23-Jan-21 08:00:26

Good Morning everyone. Sunny and blue here. Bit annoyed as my alarm on my tablet failed to chime....now I’ve lost half an hour so must shake my bones....off to hairdresser this morning. She’s lovely, always does a good job so I’ll look human again.....but I hate it. Always have done.

My tiny redstart is sitting in a flowerpot outside the window, pouncing on insects. Insects must be very hardy this time of year! Love your DD’s bird, Sar. WILTY always makes me laugh, Ashcombe. We need that so much now.

Enjoy your fry up, Mick.a little of what you fancy never did much harm. We can’t be sensible and good all of the time.

Careful where you walk today, no slips please. Horsey maintenance with barrows and bales this weather is hard work, Beau.Be respectful of your shoulder so life doesn’t become even harder.

After the Hairdressers, home for croissants and coffees then off to the beach. I shall do some sewing after lunch, I think. Should wash the floors but there are so many floor washing days. Morale is much more important now.

Hugs to all - especially if you’ve pain or sadness.
TOYA., until tomorrow. x ??????‍♀️?????

Good morning Mick and all

Yep Sar53 it’s cold, just put my nose out of the window ❄️❄️ Beautiful picture, what a talented GD ?

No plans other than changing beds now DD and GC have returned home.

The house is quiet and after watching the PM’s bulletin last night I just couldn’t shift a feeling of utter despair. Sorry I know we have the vaccine but how are we going to move on and get back to normality?

Definitely need one of scentia’s smiles

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Scentia Sat 23-Jan-21 08:04:00

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is frosty.
Sar that painting is fantastic, I would be proud of that as a 54 year old let alone 9?
Today I will get my pushbike out to go down to the little Asian store as I have a recipe and it needs some odd stuff in it that the COOP just would not have heard of!
I haven’t heard from DD in days but that is normal when her DH is onshore, I don’t mind at all but it annoys my DH a little. I will go over to take DGS for our walk tomorrow morning unless we have snow.
I have a big smile on my face already and I have just got out of bed, I was trying to be quiet so I didn’t wake DH. I left the lamp off and I walked into the corner of the bed and my expletives were enough to wake him with a start and that made me laugh ?
I hope all my GM friends are feeling ok and can find something to make them smile at least once today.❤️

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, but a hard frost. Feels chilly indoors, so I have a nice hot mug of tea and a blanket over my knees. Just had a slice of toast and jam. The cats are chasing each other up and down the stairs.

Waiting for the paper to come so I can have a go at the crossword. Planning on making a chilli in the slow cooker with enough left to freeze. Will carry on with my knitting today; I finished a scarf yesterday and started on one for DD. It keeps my brain and hands busy.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

kittylester Sat 23-Jan-21 08:05:00

Hope to get a walk in sometime too!!

Lovely picture sar. And a pretty name.

Good morning everyone from a cold, frosty and windy east coast of Fife. I’m quite perplexed this morning after receiving an email from Hmrc giving me a tax return outcome when in fact I’ve not worked for well over a year. Saying I owe them a sum of money. We even invited a tax official to help fill out a tax return in 2019 just after my stroke, he was asked to put into the form I’ll not be completing any future tax returns due to personal circumstances.why then did I receive this information. I know there’s many fraudulent hmrc emails going around so I just deleted these couple of emails I’m unsure of what to do next though. Help has anyone out there any further advice on how best to deal with this I don’t want to be stuck with a debt to hmrc. Sorry to off load this to you kind people during these awful times.
have a happy day everyone find something which will help you to move past the present trials this smile

Good morning, from heat - wave South Africa. I have the fan going already, 10 am, while I write letters.
I write to people to help them cope with life's pressures and stresses.
The article in writing about today is "Why Pray?"
Hubby is the hunter - and - gatherer today...... smile. He's gone shopping.
Enjoy your day everyone ??❤️

Good Morning from N. Bucks.
After a beautiful blue sky yesterday it is cold and misty today.
Quick weekly food shop this morning , how exciting !

DGS 2 is 5 years old today. Would normally be with him and helping out with his party.☹️ He’s having a virtual party and wants me to see him blow out the candles on his cake. I have made a sponge too and he will help me blow out candles in that as well ! Apparently Superman is making him pancakes for breakfast.

I think that will be my ?for today. I hope you all find one too.

brook2704 Sat 23-Jan-21 08:09:56

Lovely picture Sar, definitely a talented DGD ?

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 23-Jan-21 08:10:06

Good morning Mick and everyone, I watched the briefing too, not good news, but we can’t change it so have to plaster a smile on my face and keep in touch with Family via the Internet.
Tiles are coming off of the bathroom wall this morning, once we peel the duck tape off they will literally, fall off. As there is still no sign of the Bathroom fitter we are using temporary panels to see us through the Winter, hopefully someone will want to plan and fit a new Bathroom.......so a messy noisy day.
Have as good a day as you can everyone and be careful out there it’s slippy.
