Staff on a covid ward have created an
‘inspirational wall’, where they scribble their hopes and prayers.
One wrote: Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.’
Have we got any quotes or sayings, we find helpful? Especially in these difficult and trying times.
Mine is ‘be stoical’, which I say to myself if I’m ever tempted to feel sorry for myself. It’s an old fashioned word and reminds me of what people years ago had to deal with and pulls me up by my boot straps.

From The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse - a very inspirational story.
"Look how far we have to go" said the mole
"But look how far we have come" replied the horse.

At the beginning of the pandemic we knew nothing about it but now we have better treatments and a vaccine.

To be happy you must
Let go of what's gone

And look forward to what is coming next

Someone posted this on Gransnet some years ago:

You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could’ve, would’ve happened… or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on.–Tupac Shakur

And a personal favourite

"This too, shall pass". Reminds you to make the most of the good times while they are here - and conversely, no matter how bad things get, they will pass.

I like this one by Irving Wallace:

"To be one's self, and unafraid whether right or wrong, is more admirable than the easy cowardice of surrender to conformity."

When faced with a negative, always look for a positive.
