Bedding to wash and then nothing else today.
Probably stuffed aubergine for dinner. It is my absolute favourite vegetable. I like it in any form.

Good morning all! Usual sort of lockdown day for me - a walk, a bit of housework and a bridge match tonight online. My exciting news is I have booked a holiday for late May in a cottage in Staithes. Two of our adult sons have decided to come with us.One of them we have only seen once over the last year so will be a lovely chance to catch up. I love Staithes and look forward to some coastal walking. Have a good day everyone, especially

Yesterday I enjoyed a stroll across Babbacombe Downs in beautiful sunshine from where I could see three cruise ships sitting rather mournfully in the bay. Sad to see these majestic crafts sitting idle and frustrating for crews and potential passengers alike. Perhaps if all targets are met, they will be able to plough the seas once more, later this year.

Yesterday, I rang one of our older Toads (amdram) members to check on her well-being as I’d heard she was feeling isolated and we had a delightful conversation in which she told me of her early working life as an air traffic controller in the WRAF. When our theatre is operating normally, we have so little time for any serious socialising so we both enjoyed the exchange of background information.

In contrast, today I must write to a much respected older (82?) member who has not fared well mentally during the pandemic. He is a gifted actor, having capably taken challenging lead rôles in plays like Death of a Salesman and Sleuth. The pandemic led to a decline in his mental health as he needs to be around people. Now in a Care Home, he suffered a fall recently and is not coping well.

Good morning from a cold start here in north Surrey. Beautiful red sky yesterday evening, hopefully forecasting a sunny day today.
Boys very good yesterday after school and they are both still asleep at the moment.
I am back to work this afternoon. Have another 3 day stint and then will take a couple of weeks off. Working bank means I can work round my life rather than being limited by a rota system which meant I often missed out on social occasions (none of those at the moment)!
Sisters taken over the visits to mum and dad, mum still not her usual cheery self.
Our Peak District holiday in July has been confirmed, something to put on the calendar and fingers crossed it doesn’t end up with a big line through it. I looked at the cottage details again yesterday (we originally booked to go away last year) and it does look lovely so I am really looking forward now.
So good to see EV back, I do enjoy you tales of crumpets, cats and family , (not necessarily in that order)!

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is a little cool but we have the promise of sunshine.
Work for a few hours this morning then put the final touches to my Guinea Pig hutch as I collect them at 3.30 today??
The Gardner is coming to clear weeds from my cobbled patio so I can start the summer looking good! I have peony tulips on the rise in my tubs and raised beds, they have taken their time.
Glad to see the return of EV and hope others will do the same soon. You know who you are Friday Girl

Our gardener didn't come yesterday so is coming this morning, we expect a meat delivery from the butcher and I have a volunteer Zoom session - I shall need a lie down after all that excitement.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun ☀️ is coming up although there was frost on the cars when I got up.
No plans today apart from a walk along by the sea. Weekends get so busy here. All the local car parks have been shut for weeks so we get bumper to bumper parking along the residential streets.

As I just cannot get rid of this dratted diverticulitis and am getting such little support from my own Doctors’s surgery, I have had to go private and will see my lovely consultant on Monday and suspect he will book me in for another colonoscopy - oh the joy !

Spring flowers coming out in our garden are just fabulous and we have some very pretty small daffodils around the garden Buddha ??

Good morning all from a frosty S Hants, promising a sunny day. I had a dynamic day on the housework front yesterday, today I hope to get to the allotment, have a walk, make cottage pie for dinner. DH is happy, but tired working, it also means the alarm goes off early, we’d got quite used to later rising.
I had a long phone call with a friend yesterday who lives on his own and sad news in an email from another friend, one of their dogs had to be put to sleep earlier in the week, I’ve arranged for flowers to be sent.

The sky is blue and the sun is out. Granny duties today including a live class session with 6yr old it’s show and tell which will
be hilarious if past lessons are anything to go by.

It’s one of our son’s birthday today, seems strange not meeting up for hugs and dinner (it was an “0” birthday for him last year and we had a joyous family meal at a local restaurant)

Sar53 in AC’s road the residents are having problems getting in/out of their drives, at the weekend the police were doing spot checks along the seafront.

Morning all from a distinctly chilly south coast (-0.6 at 6.15am).

We had two pieces of excitement yesterday. Firstly my lovely hairdresser texted to offer me the first appointment (9am) when she re-opens on 12 April (fingers crossed). Just got over that when the second, and even more exciting thing happened.

The hospital rang and offered DH a date for his second operation - next Friday 5 March. This is the op. that he was scheduled to have on 21 December and was cancelled the day before when news of the third lockdown had filtered through. He has to go for a covid test on Wednesday 3 March but the pre-op he had for the non-event on 21 December lasts 18 weeks, so he doesn't need another.

He has been so stoic and patiently waiting but always knowing that he has to have two more operations to finish putting him back together after his major cancer operation last July. I am just hoping that this time the surgery goes ahead and he has time to recover from that before they schedule the third, and hopefully final operation.

Plans for today include a quick trip to pick up my Ready Reads from the library this morning, make a big bowl of my kale salad and cut DH's hair. Never got round to doing it earlier in the week despite having it on my agenda!

Welcome back EV! Always feel a connection as most of my extended family live on the Isle of Man and I went to school in EV's home town. It's a small world.

Hoping to get the lawns mowed today but first have to pop into town.Apparently there is an Artisan market so if it’s not too busy will take a look.

We have had notice that the holiday we booked last year for my 60th birthday and postponed to this year has been postponed again.We have decided to have a refund rather than carry the booking forward to next year.

DGD loves her dolls house and we have made plans as to paint colour and wallpaper.

Thinking of all our absent friends and all with worries and illness.

It’s a beautiful morning in Suffolk, although there is a hard frost. Both cars need a good clean, inside and out. They are muddy and horror - there is algae growing around the window seals! Proper country cars!

My mum would have been 99 today and I dreamt I went and bought flowers for her. Visiting a florist! I thank goodness she had died ( at 96) before this pandemic started. She would never have understood.

I also dreamt I was teaching two science lessons on Solids and Waves to year 6 and was completely unprepared. Teachers will all recognise that dream. At least I wasn’t naked - another common teacher dream!
Love to the lambs * sheep*. I hope they are arriving at a steady pace.

Good morning everyone from a dry bright Inverness, hopefully the cold wind we had yesterday has now gone.
I spent yesterday pottering in and out of the garden and was pleased to see that most things look like they’ve survived the winter.
Today I’m going to try my Fitsteps online dance class again, I’ve not bothered for a while as it’s nothing like being in the studio and I was finding it hard to be motivated. Will give it a go anyhow ?
After that I’m going to walk down the hill to my friends house and give her a wave in the garden. She’s the friend that I usually meet for coffee and a catch up most weeks and I’m so missing that
Such good news on here about holidays being booked - lovely things to look forward to. I’m looking forward to getting to see my eldest DD and DGC in Cambridge and my son in Switzerland as soon as it’s allowed....

Good morning all from a very bright but chilly day here on the east coast of Fife.I’m going for a visit this morning to our local charity to give them my discarded pieces of jewellery for them to sell on and possibly get a few pounds.

My very few pieces of genuine jewellery has/have been put into the new jewellery box for safekeeping. You may have read in a previous post the Yorkshire puddings I made yesterday had holes in them. They were eatable though. What on earth am I doing wrong?

Good morning to all from a bright west Kent. We also had a red sky sunset so fingers crossed for a sunny day. Enjoyed lovely visit to nearby Hever Castle gardens yesterday and spotted lots of snowdrops and hellebores.
Good news for Gagagran on haircut and DH's op. You must be relieved that he hasn't got to wait too long for the surgery.

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where it’s already sunny. The forecast is good for the weekend to so we hope to be able to meet and greet the smalls in the park tomorrow. It’s our once a week treat, weather permitting.

Another nothing day today but who cares? We will enjoy a walk later. The sun is shining, we have had our first jabs and we are healthy. I’m off to count my blessings.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A chilly night but going to be a lovely mild bright day.
DD1 is moving today, so it's ideal weather for it. They took some of our excess furniture last night and so our house is looking bare.
A quiet day here with no plans.

Yesterday’s walk was wonderful except for one thing - why did the paths always go up and not down? Strange to be sure .

Off to the garden centre for compost this morning, I’ll potter this afternoon while Mr C begins to remove trellis and some large tubs to allow a new fence to be installed mid March. Will try to persuade Mr C to go slowly, there’s plenty of time.

Good to see EV back and to hear some people are booking holidays, sorry yours hasn’t worked susan, you must be disappointed. Hope all goes well for your husband gaga, not long to wait. You must be in pain nankate, hope your consultant can help.
