Good morning everyone from a foggy dawning E Kent.
Golly, Mick, not until July? How can it take so loooong? I think that a lot of older people will have got so used to isolation that they won’t want to come out and socialise!
Another nothing day.
I ordered some stuff room Argos the other day and tried to link my Nectar card to Argos. Could I do it? Could I heck. After going round in circles for over an hours and receiving a blizzard of “helpful” emails, I tried online chatting. No help at all. When I went to Sainsbury’s for my weekly shop yesterday, I thought that perhaps they could link the card. A charming girl suggested I went online, I just laughed. She then said that if I bought my receipt she could add the 1000s of points to my card. Bingo! I could have kissed her! Why had no one suggested that before?
So, apart from nothing, I’ve got an office chair to assemble. I love putting things together. Give me several boxes full of IKEA stuff and I’m a happy bunny.?
I hope all yesterday celebrations went well, and that today will be gentle with you all. Stay safe ?

Another day with not much on so I will gather up some bits and play around with an idea for a birthday card I have to make. Will do the ironing first and then I can use the ironing board as an extra surface to put my things.

Good morning from Malta where the sun is shining weakly through the clouds and the temp is 17°C.

I’m puppy sitting already so was up at dawn’s crack in order to be showered and ready. I can’t get much done whilst he’s here as I have to watch what he’s up to. He’s so tiny and my dog is a giant next to him so I don’t want any accidents.

Yesterday I received a package from Next - new pyjamas and slippers. Can’t believe I could be so excited about it, but this is what life has become.

I think you could be right Mattie. At the beginning of 2020 I felt like I could start to pick my feet up once again and do more in joining in of things and going places. This year I feel as though I’ve been knocked off my feet and have to start all over again.

Usual Wednesday dust removal and grocery delivery. It feels regimented but does give a kind of welcome routine. Should be space for a phone chat with a friend later, we always laugh together about goodness knows what. .

These last few days of sunshine have really brightened my mood. I appreciate nature and freedom so much more than I ever did.

As I am a visual learner DH has produced for me a roadmap based on the dates given by the Goverment so I can track our route to release. Seeing it in picture form is brilliant ?

Good morning all from north Surrey, cold and dry here.
We had a lovely walk yesterday across National Trust meadows by the River Thames. we stopped for our picnic next to a bank of snowdrops, very pretty. The area is on the flight path for planes coming into Heathrow and I was surprised at how many were coming in to land, wondering just who is travelling at the moment.
This morning I have my PT session, will need to wrap up warm again with the drop in temperature. A visit to mum and dad later and the boys again this evening. First off it is bedding change day so need to get out of it!

Our cleaner will be here this morning and I have a Zoom session. And, at long last,, we have a plasterer coming to quote for doing the hall ceiling!! Dh is doing a drive this afternoon so I will have an empty! Sadly, I have to finish my Sainsbury's order!

NannyJan, dh's team is Nottingham Forest,who lost last night, but in the family we have supporters of Wolves, Derby County, Leicester City and Liverpool. His friend from university supports Aston Villa. They all belong to a Fantasy Football league and WhatsApps fly - I find it all exhausting. Dh and Ds1 have season tickets in normal times which I prefer. ??

Morning all. It's a bit less chilly here on the south coast this morning. 5.7c on my weather station but there may be some light showers later.

DH is going for his covid test this morning ready for his surgery on Friday. He has to isolate after the test but that means living pretty much as usual for us. We have got used to living a very quiet life and I actually enjoy it. It feels a lot less stressful to me. I can't see us changing much even when the restrictions are lifted.

It's the young ones I feel sorry for. They should be living their best lives but have been unable to do so for 12 months now. Our four DGC, 19, 18, 16 and 15 have missed so much - including the eldest in her first year at university spending most of it studying online and missing out on fresher's week etc. Luckily she is a sunny soul and has a lovely boyfriend wo they have been supporting each other.

Hope the day is a good one for us all.

Good morning, one and all from another overcast day in Torbay! Uninspiring kind of weather.

It sounds like a few of us are feeling rather flat after our routines becoming rather similar, day by day. We do seem to be continuing well with the vaccinations, if a little slower now. My bubble friend, who is 64, had hers yesterday. The good news from France is that the AstraZeneca vaccine is now considered suitable for over 65’s so perhaps DH might have his first one earlier than the currently predicted date of early May! Hiraeth: I believe Germany is expected to follow suit.

It’s good to hear that dealing with real people, grandMattie, still has a place in this age of technology. A doctor said yesterday how important it is to engage with others in conversation at every opportunity. I need no encouragement on that front!

As Gagagran says, it is so much harder for our young people who have missed out on far more than our generation who expect to lead less hectic lives.

Good Morning from a very dull Black Country.

Had a lovely walk to and round Himley Hall with a friend yesterday morning. As I arrived home about 1pm, the sun came out. So ate lunch sitting in the garden, it does lighten the mood to be able to do that. Then MrJan and I had another walk in the sunshine in the afternoon to our local park. That was yesterdays excitement

Kitty all MrJans family are Villa supporters. My Dad was a Wolves supporter, but stopped going to games in the 50's when they put the price up to 5 shillings . He did get a job on the gate taking money when he retired. They paid him £10 a shift and a ticket to the game. This was in the 90's He used to give the ticket to a passerby in the street.

Good morning from a grey and foggy Essex by the sea.
Vacuuming and ironing today, such excitement.
Four out of five of my granddaughters are back at school next week. They are all looking forward to seeing their friends and getting some normality back into their lives.

A night, mostly awake, with my crime thriller in the spare room. Serves me right for sleeping in yesterday morning.
DH had his telephone appointment with the consultant yesterday, not the kind of news you want to hear over the phone, she has promised to see him face to face the next time.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey cloudy start to the day.
A picnic by the snowdrops sounds idyllic dwm my sort of day!
Yesterday I walked down to my friends house and we spent a little while chatting in her garden and catching up on news. I really enjoyed her company and it was lovely to see her. Today I’ve got a trip to Tesco to look forward to later.
It’s my youngest DGS birthday today, he’ll be 4. They live in Cambridge so I’ve not seen them since last August. Pre lockdown I used to visit nearly every month as I was determined not to miss seeing them grow up. - so much for that plan! Anyhow hopefully not too long and I’ll be there .....
I agree about the young ones gaga such a big part of their lives changed which they’ll never get back.
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today, however small and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Absolutely no plans at all for today. I will choose a new novel to read.

We booked a 5 night hotel stay in Western Ross at the end of June. My stepfather missed going up there last year - the only year he has missed in 60 years. He wants to spend time chatting with his cousin who will be 80y this summer. As he said yesterday ‘phone calls aren’t as good as time actually spent with people’. He feels at his age (88y) his life has been on hold long enough and he’d like some ‘experiences’ this year. We are happy to oblige! It’s time to look forward to getting out from all this isolation. It’s not good for mental health is it?

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. It’s Budget Day and also Nicola Sturgeon’s turn to answer questions. Should be interesting tv. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dull and dreary Oxfordshire.
DD2 had her op yesterday, and it’s more painful than she thought it would be, hmmmm. Feel I should be with her, not that it would help her, but it would help me! Not happening though, hopefully she will be out Thursday.
So today it’s moving bedrooms around so that she is downstairs with access to the bathroom and the garden, hopefully the sun will shine soon and she will be able to sit in the conservatory and read.

Good Morning everyone from a not yet sunny South of ??.

Nothing can dampen my mood today because...........big drum roll.......I’ve got a Vaccine appointment. I was beginning to lose hope. However, spotted one after a particularly long session online.Here you generally book online through a huge company who co-ordinate nationwide Docs and Specialists, and all medical appointments etc., for those who register with them. They then confirm with you and all concerned, and send you endless reminders to ensure you turn up - or will cancel stuff for you. Having spotted a rare and elusive appointment, I grabbed it in great excitement.

Just picture my face, after having received confirmation of a rendezvous-vous for tomorrow morning and the second one for the 30th, when I properly checked to find it is 350kms/three and a half hours drive away! ?. DH - to give him all credit - barely blinked!!!

Do we care? We do not. Accompanied by a small picnic, a flask, and the dogs, we shall pile into the car at 6.00am (if you can do it, Susan, so can we.?) Maybe we’re just desperate for a day out? A complete change of scene? Some actual purpose in the day? Who cares, when I’ve finally snagged that vaccine.

Yesterday’s lovely Anniversary day possibly made me a bit giddy ( and thank you all the lovely people who wished us well). We had such a nice day and it seems the chance of a 700km day out on Thursday felt like the cherry on the cake. ??. I shall let you know.........

We shall all have to start wearing small badges saying Easily Pleased : kitty with a plastering prospect, Mr Gaga with some surgery. Whatever next for you all? Haircuts?
