Good morning, Mick and everyone else on another frosty one in Torbay.
Yesterday DGD (8) was so excited to be returning to school that she was up, dressed and ready by 7.00 a.m.! DD and her colleagues had planned to be in early to make their school look welcoming for their returning pupils, as per photos.
After a cold start, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day so I enjoyed the chance to sit in some local gardens, entirely tended by volunteers. It was bequeathed to the area by the widow of a London jeweller, who stipulated it was for use only by adults so no children (or dogs!) are permitted. It is an oasis of tranquility in a busy place.

Good morning Mick and Good Morning-ers. A cold but clear start in Wiltshire. Luckily the water pipes weren’t frozen in the barn this morning as I had a lot of lamb milk to make up for some hungry lambs. I managed nearly 6 hours sleep last night as DH did the late checks and feeds in the lambing shed so I could have a very early night. Unfortunately I woke at 3am with an upset stomach (I think as a result of lack of sleep and eating ‘on the run’ over the past fortnight) so I was back in the lambing shed by 4am... yawn! Good job I was back down early as 3 ewes had lambed 5 lambs and were in a bit of a pickle as to which lamb belonged to who! It took a bit of sorting but between the ewes and myself, we managed to find a solution that everyone was happy with! Now I’m at the tail end of lambing, I’ve had time to take a few photos of the mums and babies. Thelma and Louise are the Zwarble ewes with their very smart lambs and the other ewe with her twins is Tank - a sweet ewe that I hand reared 3 years ago. The tangle of lambs is from the ‘orphan pen’, although they aren’t really orphans, they’re spares from triplets as we only send 2 of triplets out with a ewe. This year I’ve ended up with 18 spares that now need to be hand reared,, which is more than I’d like but that’s life! I’m still very tired and will need to catch up on a lot of sleep before I feel half human again, so apologies if I’m not making a lot of sense! On a non-sheep note, my 7 year old granddaughter went back to school yesterday. My DiL rang me weeping at 9am to say that, when the children lined up to go into school, the teachers all gathered in the playground to applaud the children as they went in ?. I thought that this was so lovely that I had a good weep too!! I’m way to emotional lately!! Lastly, DH and I have our appointments booked for our vaccinations next week which I’m delighted/ excited/relieved about. It’s starting to feel like ‘tomorrow really will be a good day’. So Late today, don't sleep well normally, so when I sleep up to the ungodly hour of 0700 I feel it is mid aftrnoon!
Here is a picture of Iris' cage. It seems very unweildy as well as heavy...School seems to have gone well, but I havent ha a proper report yet.
Supermarket today and that's it.

Morning all. It was a cold start but the sun is out now. I am getting ready to batten down the hatches tomorrow and Thursday .If the forecast is to be believed we are in for a hoolie!
Another day waiting for some improvement for DH as he had another poor night. The nurses keep coming in to take his BP so he is only sleeping in short bursts. His consultant saw him yesterday and said it will be a few days before he should start to improve. He is very stoic and uncomplaining though so I just support that as best I can in our phone calls.
At least I don't have to cope with what our poor Queen is going through with her DH also stuck in hospital.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s a lovely sunny start. Heavy rain forecast from tonight though.
My walk yesterday with a friend was lovely. We passed 3 infant and junior school entrances with those balloon rainbows. Very sweet! Also this local postbox had a new knitted topper on it yesterday. See photo. At Christmas it had a nativity scene (natch) and early February a snowman in a park. This Easter one was colourful and cute. Busy and fiddly for the mystery knitter!
I’ve no plans today apart from a (what seems to be weekly) request to make a SOAP dish for the little family tonight. Our daughter works full time & as it helps her out I’m more than happy to drop it off for her to heat through once she gets home. The children get picked up after school by their lovely childminder then mummy goes for them around 5pm. A long day for all of them.
Hope Tuesday is good to us all. That cage is not what I thought for poor Iris granMattie she has done amazingly well coping with such a horrid contraption hasn’t she? Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
