Strange as we get older,
those bumps and knocks we got when we were younger,
hurt more and take longer to subside.
Are their any foods that we can eat than can help in reducing aches and pains.
Thanking you in advance

I'm not sure about food but I have a very bad pain condition and I don't like taking painkillers so I practice Yoga Nidra. It is not exercise in as much as yoga as you are lying down the whole time, is more about controlling the pain. It takes about 20 minutes (or less) and all you need is a quiet room (lying on your bed is fine). It takes about 2 or 3 sessions to start feeling the benefit so try not to give up. You can download a beginner's programme on Utube.

You could chew willow bark. It contains salicin. Personally I prefer manufactured aspirin, which is much the same stuff but easier to take and comes in measured doses.

I suppose morphine is a natural pain killer as its made from poppies???????

My Mother in law swears by hemp tea for aches and pains. You can get it from Holland and Barret. I think I need to try it. I use tiger balm for pulls and things, it's ever so good. One of my sons who does weight lifting uses it as well

If you eat a lot of poppy seed cake, you end up with enough opium in your system to fail a drug test for opiates.

My problem is that I don’t notice the knocks until I find blood spots on the carpet or patio.

I always use Arnica for knocks.

I really don't think it would work though, especially if you had a sore throat

Might a Shakti mat help?

DH had a blood test once and they queried his use of opiates! Poppy seed bread was the reason!

Elegran Tue 04-May-21 16:27:07

I thought that the poppies that provide the seeds on bread were different to the opium poppes that morphine comes from.

They are, but they still contain a trace of opioid, and if you eat enough of them, the opioid is detectable in blood and urine.

Since reading that I've had a look for poppy seeds and opioids, and found that they can indeed affect drug tests.
