Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark here in brackley with mist or fog about .
Yesterday , or last night I enjoyed watching a programme on Channel 5 "The Cotswolds with Pam Ayres " , and the first programme of the series showed allot of familiar places to me, apart from that many years ago when I first started work at 15 , I did have the pleasure of knowing Pam before she was famous , although she worked on the office side of where I worked , we did further education day release from work in Oxford , I sat behind her n the classroom .
Anyway today , my usual Saturday bus trips to Buckingham and Bicester with hopefully no hold ups .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a grey E Kent.
Was Pam Ayers as amusing then, Mick?
A quiet day today. I slept better having gone to be and fallen asleep by 2100!
Have a good day one and all, may all your troubles be overcome easily.

Good morning from a drizzly south Cornwall. That must have been lovely Mick, seeing Pam Ayres. My son, who is staying with me over the weekend, has a wedding photography project at a castle today. Hope the weather improves for the bride!

I'm off to my usual Saturday coffee morning at the allotments if my knee will allow. My hip surgeon has asked my previous knee surgeon if he will do the knee replacement soon to protect my new joints, so maybe I won't have to wait two years after all. Have the best day you can.

Good morning from Welwyn, Herts where it looks fairly bright, maybe a nice day is on it's way.
It has been a busy week, nice busy for our family. Our new baby grandson arrived on Tuesday to our DS2 and DIL Thankfully they are both fine and home from hospital the next evening, so different to when we had ours when it was a week's stay for the first baby.
So looking forward to meeting DGS tomorrow, today will cook and take some food for the sleep deprived parents.
Wishing all as good a weekend as is possible.

Good morning from a very foggy Northampton, real autumn weather. It is due to brighten up a bit later on, and hopefully it will be fine for my home rugby match this afternoon.

Both DGDs are up and enjoying hot chocolate. Bacon butties on the order for breakfast! Elder DGD is off to dance classes later on; I just have to put her on the right bus, and she takes herself there, as she does when at home. Hoping they both enjoy the rugby this afternoon, as I got tickets for them. We shall stop and get fish and chips on the way home.

I am looking forward to watching the Pam Ayres programme later; recorded it last night. "Strictly" is the order of the day tonight; both girls are keen fans.

Hoping we all find a bit of sunshine ? today.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright and dry start to the day.

Such lovely news maydonoz and congratulations on the birth of your new baby grandson. I bet you can’t wait to meet him tomorrow!

Similar to you BlueSapphire this morning my DGD has her dance class but I’m taking her there and whilst she’s there I’ll probably do a quick shop in town. After that we’re meeting up with DD2, DH and DGS for lunch in town. Then probably off for a walk somewhere in the afternoon

Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have a forecast of 30°C, sunny with a light breeze. No plans for us until tonight when we will go down to the marina by taxi with our friends from Bolton. They rarely go but their daughter and granddaughter who stayed in their apartment for a week in August absolutely loved it so they fancy cocktails and a meal down there!

I shall just be reading in the gardens. I started a new book yesterday on my Kindle. It’s brilliant. Written by the author of ‘The Four Winds’ and ‘The Nightingale’ that I couldn’t put down, this one is called ‘The Great Alone’ by Kristin Hannah. She writes amazingly well and has fast become one of my favourite authors.

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

harrigran Sat 18-Sep-21 07:20:22

Good morning from a dry NE where the sun is just rising.
We have had some warm days this week and I have taken the opportunity to recharge my batteries in the garden.
Decided to clean the kitchen blinds yesterday, what a faff, requiring me to kneel on the worktop. I kept getting cramp in the back of my thighs.
DH has not been out of bed since returning from the hospital but he did manage to eat a little yesterday, his favourite was peach and ice cream.
Sister and BIL will call today, nice for me to have someone to talk to.
Enjoy the weekend.

Good morning. The weather looks fine for our journey home today. Hope the traffic won’t be too heavy.
Enjoy your new Grandson Maydonoz.

Grandmajean Sat 18-Sep-21 07:50:32

Lovely morning here in Cheshire.
Congratulations on your new grandson maydonoz
I well remember being in hospital for 6 days after having baby number one. Desperate to get home. After baby two I would have stayed another week ? if they had let me !

MayBeMaw Sat 18-Sep-21 07:51:06

Good morning from N Bucks here the sun is breaking through an autumnal mist.
I am dropping Rosie off at the kennels (fortunately she is happy enough to go) and then looking forward to meeting my three day- old little grandson in London! He arrived at home in under 3 1/2 hours early on Wednesday morning, the paramedics and doula getting there just in time (15 minutes) to save SIL a DIY delivery! No name yet, but there might be by the time I get there. At the moment Otis, his 2 year old big brother calls him Baby Rosa as he has a little friend at nursery with a new baby sister and seems to think that’s what babies are called. Ah well - in these non-binary days….. grin
Thinking of all with health worries or sadness in your hearts and wishing you all a gentle weekend.

Good morning from a misty Melton Mowbray. We set off shortly for the New Forest but not until the cafe here opens and we have had a hearty breakfast. I hope we do better traffic wise than we did yesterday. It was just so busy and most unpleasant. Our sat nav took us a weird and wonderful way for the last 20 miles or so then when it said you have arrived, No, we hadn’t!
Congratulations on your new grandson maydonoz Enjoy your cuddles tomorrow.
Take care everyone and stay safe ?

MayBeMaw Sat 18-Sep-21 07:53:41

I have just spotted that Maydnoz also has a new grandson- congratulations! It’s going to be a day of cuddles! ???

Good morning Mick and All.

A sunny day in South Bucks.

Good to see you here today grandMattie ?

I’ll check out those books Urm for my Kindle, which was my Best Buy during Lockdown.

Greyduster Sat 18-Sep-21 07:58:56

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is shining in South Yorkshire. We are both creaking like a couple of old gates after a big session in the garden yesterday. One job leads to another, and another! I have something that feels like a frozen shoulder and DH is walking about like an old man. Hang on a minute! He is an old man?! Today we will have a gentle(ish) walk and see if the squirrels have left us any hazel nuts. I have a curry to make for tomorrow, and it will be fish and chips for an easy lunch today.
Enjoy your day folks.

baubles Sat 18-Sep-21 08:00:46

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

The programme brought back memories for you Mick, glad you enjoyed it.

Congratulations on your new grandson Maydonoz.

No plans for today, I may be forced into clearing the clean laundry. I’m a week behind with The Archers so I can listen whilst I dash away with the smoothing iron.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ???

Pittcity Sat 18-Sep-21 08:05:36

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A lie in here, the town hall clock is striking 8 as I type.

NannyJan53 Sat 18-Sep-21 08:15:20

Good morning from a bright Black Country. Where it was lovely and sunny again yesterday.

Lunch out with Mum yesterday in DD's village, then picking up 10 year old DGD from school at 4pm as she did an after school club playing tennis. Three times Mum said, "I thought she came home on the bus" so three times I explained she is doing an after school club, so the bus has long gone! She is 91 so to be expected, but her memory has certainly gone downhill this past year.

No real plans today, except washing and housework and reading my book. Thank you for the recommendation Urms I have made a note, always looking for new authors. I have just started a book called Friend Request by Laura Marshall, a charity shop find. Part of 3 for £1!

Congratulations on the birth of your DGS Maydonoz exciting times for you.

Wishing you all a lovely day with special thoughts of Marydoll we are missing you!

Gingster Sat 18-Sep-21 08:17:32

Good morning from Essex and it’s fairly bright here.

Congratulations on your new baby gs’s may and maw. Have a lovely visit with them.

Urms I always jot down your book recommendations. Although I belong to two book clubs, I’m always on the look out for books that others have enjoyed.

My home book club is like sitting an English lit exam for 2 hours with very knowledgable ladies. It does challenge me and I enjoy it.
My seaside club is lighthearted and fun with coffee and cake.

Dh has just gone to get the papers and a couple of croissants for breakfast. Yum! He will go to footie this afternoon and leave me in peace ?. I’ll read the papers and potter. Lovely!

Lots going on today with all the grans. Enjoy whatever you’re up to.
