Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like the start of a hot warm day if forecast is right here in brackley.
Plans are to go via Buckingham , this depends on whether the bus runs to time , if not direct to Bicester will decide on what snack I have when I get there .
Also with cycling on TV as well , plans to have a Chinses Curry later .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Mick and all who follow, clear and due to be sunny here in North Devon after a sunny but blustery week, if only I’d packed warmer clothes and a hat! Story of my life….
Back home to Oxfordshire when MrOops wakes up and hopefully a warm and sunny weekend.
It’s been a lovely week with the beach on my doorstep.
Hope GM dear husband has a better day today.
Best wishes to everyone and may you all find something to smile about today.

Pantglas2 Sat 14-May-22 06:14:08

Hola, buen dia from ?? where more ? is promised and I shall get another week’s washing done on cheap electricity! Those crafty knaves think they can catch me out with their differing mid week high prices but now I simply save the washing til the weekend and my bills are less than ever? that’ll learn ‘em!

Out this evening for ⚽️ and food at a friend’s bar where they have a singer on later so siesta this afternoon on the terrace methinks?

Will catch up later with all your doings...I’m like you Taichinan I forget names on who’s doing what but do read every day and wish all a good weekend x?

ShazzaKanazza Sat 14-May-22 06:21:18

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a lovely bright Hull. It’s going to be a warm weekend so we will be in the garden all day today planting everything out.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend. Those with birthdays a happy one.
Hugs to our friends with poorly loved ones.
Hoping Saturday brings many reasons to smile. ??

grandMattie Sat 14-May-22 06:30:18

Good morning from a bright E Kent.
Happy birthday Marydoll ??
Although DH didn’t have a brilliant day, we had a very productive call from the consultant and I had asked one of the doctors to sit in, which was also helpful. They have identified the type of cancer, which although always fast growing and terminal, responds extremely well to chemotherapy for containment. Thus will start either late next week or early the week after. Side effects are how he already feels only more so!
Lovely to see DGS who was exhausted and filthy after an army-type activity week in Cornwall. He was ravenous and ate half my pizza as well as his!
He is sleeping and I doubt I shall see him before going off to the hospice.?
Carpe diem. ???

Ashcombe Sat 14-May-22 06:32:37

Good morning, all, from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Yesterday, we were pleased to deliver a bag of clothes to our nearby hospice shop. Today, another bag will go to Animals in Distress. There are three charity shops within the parade of shops, just a few minutes' walk to my home.

Also, we plan to attend our church coffee morning where the welcome is always warm. Tonight, a chance to watch the latest production at our theatre as we shall be Front of House stewards for the opening charity night (final Dress Rehearsal). The play is The Passing of the Third Floor Back. (a clumsy title!)

Safe journey to Oopsadaisy1 and others who may be travelling and a happy weekend to you all. ??????

Urmstongran Sat 14-May-22 06:34:04

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it looks a promising start to the day here. It’s warm with a high of 20°C forecast but at the moment we have a complete wash of white cloud and the Pennines are not visible.

Our Yorkshire lass and her partner are camping this weekend. They both love the outdoor life. Unlike me - I like my home comforts. We have no plans so will just take the day as it comes.

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

Scentia Sat 14-May-22 06:36:36

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks like it will be a sunny day.
Today is the birthday party, DD has waited 3 years to be able to do a party for DGS and DGD due to Covid!!
Here are the cakes she made last night, she is clever. I am biased though.
Have a great day folks❤️

Urmstongran Sat 14-May-22 06:38:12

Well remembered grandMattie from yesterday! I’m rubbish. Yes, many happy returns of the day to you Marydoll! I hope you enjoyed your birthday lunch yesterday and your trip down memory lane.

Urmstongran Sat 14-May-22 06:40:40

Goodness Scentia those cakes look professional - they are quite beautiful. I hope you all enjoy the party for the two littlies. It’s great life is back to normal (for) now.

mumofmadboys Sat 14-May-22 06:41:37

Good morning all! Good G Mattie that some treatment is being offered. Hope that helps.
Happy birthday Marydoll! Have a good day with lots of little treats!
We still have a lot of admin tasks to help our Ukrainian guests with -like applying for NI numbers, applying for family allowance, getting appointments for getting biometric passports to name a few.
It will be lovely if the sun shines today.
Have the best day you can!

grandMattie Sat 14-May-22 06:51:14

Well done, momb. Curiously, a few days before DH’s diagnosis, I had downloaded the form to host refugees and was about to fill it in. I’m really sad about that.

brook2704 Sat 14-May-22 06:58:08

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s sunny and bright and a good day is forecast
Wow those cakes Scentia! They look so good, I bet the DGC will be thrilled!
Happy Birthday to Marydoll enjoy your special day! ????
A quiet weekend for us, hopefully we’ll be outside in the garden most of the time.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Sat 14-May-22 06:59:06

Good morning all and it’s a bit overcast here in Essex. Sun due to appear a bit later.

I had a very long lunch with my friend yesterday which was lovely and we discussed a day trip in September with a local coach company. I’ll book it today.

Today DD and I are going for a charity afternoon tea with a group of friends. It takes place in a church hall but it is just as good as Tea at the Ritz. ?. A pianist , vintage dressed waitresses/waiters, scrumptious sandwiches, cakes etc, and pastries, and plenty of it, Prosecco and non alcoholic beverages, tea/coffee to follow. All in aid of Cancer Relief. It should be fun!

Those cakes are amazing Scentia. Enjoy the party. ???.

Happy Birthday Marydoll ??.

I hope you all have a pleasant weekend ?

baubles Sat 14-May-22 07:01:35

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

Those cakes look amazing Scentia, I bet they will be delicious too.

Happy birthday Marydoll ??.

Another working day for me, this has been a four day week, however I’m only in one day next week so will be able to catch up with all sorts of neglected tasks.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Sar53 Sat 14-May-22 07:03:06

Good morning from a sunny France. Apart from the first few days we have had beautiful weather and it is set to continue.

We had a lovely drive out yesterday and visited two lovely villages set up high with wonderful panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.

A little food shopping this morning and not much else on the agenda today. Lots of reading and maybe a swim.

Happy Birthday to Marydoll.

Have a super Saturday everyone xxx

Beechnut Sat 14-May-22 07:12:48

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Looks nice outside and I’m expecting a lovely day ahead.

I bought most of the things I need for my weekend jobs so will make a start with painting the shed window then on to the building itself.

Happy Birthday to you Marydoll ???
Those cakes look fabulous Scentia

It was the side effects with my DH that I found difficult to get my head around Mattie.

Have a pleasant day all ??

Grandmadinosaur Sat 14-May-22 07:18:24

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire.

Happy Birthday Marydoll hope you have a day being truly spoilt and trouble free! ??

What amazing cakes Scentia hope the party goes well.

Our present to GS went down well and as soon as he got home from his cricket coaching was in the bath playing with it!

No plans for today but I suspect they will revolve around the football later this afternoon. We may go for a coffee on the marina and or maybe lunch there.

Take care everyone.

TillyTrotter Sat 14-May-22 07:27:14

Happy Birthday Marydoll . X

cornergran Sat 14-May-22 07:37:57

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is promised sunshine.

Mr C seemed fairly sneeze free so we drifted to a rhododendron wood yesterday. It was beautiful, unlike the traffic we found ourselves in on the way home. The down side of living where we do. We were enormously cheered in our traffic jam to have a call from one of ours to tell us he had secured an exciting new role after redundancy earlier this year. A weight lifted.

A beach walk this morning then we plan to dismantle a no longer needed sound system. I’ll be pleased to see it go, Mr C on the other hand is sad about it. Hopefully someone will take it on, we’ll not just dump it.

A very happy birthday marydoll. Hope the sun shines and you enjoy your day. ???

A helpful phone call grandmattie, hoping for a comfortable day for you both. Your afternoon tea sounds superb gingster. Those cakes look wonderful scentia, your daughter is certainly clever.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country.
Sun shining and washing about to go on the line.
Happy birthday Marydoll and anybody else who shares this day???.
I to have a big bag of clothes for the charity shop must remember to take them round.
Nothing planned for today maybe some gardening, friends coming later so we shall go to the club this evening.
Well full English calling so I shall wish you all a pleasant Saturday and may you all find some ?.

ginny Sat 14-May-22 07:47:49

Good morning all.
Happy Birthday Marydoll and any others celebrating.
Great cakes scentia
The weather is looking promising so after a quick food shop we will be planting in the garden. I’m also hoping to make up a little Fairy garden. I love fairies but I do know they are not real.

We may watch the song contest this evening as we’ll probably be too tired for much else.

Thoughts with all dealing with problems or illness. Special thought for Grandmattie and her DH.

Hope you all find a smile along the way.

NanKate Sat 14-May-22 07:52:08

Good morning Mick and All.

Have a lovely day Birthday Girl Marydoll ???

Off to see Toad of Toad Hall at a Country Park. I must have seen this play about 10 times, love it. ?

Marydoll Sat 14-May-22 08:02:39

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I just can't get my head around my age.
When my health deteriorated badly in 2014, I was told my prognosis was very poor, but here I am, still causing mayhem!

Pleased to hear, you had a slightly more positive day yesterday GM that was an excellent idea to ask one of the doctors to join you. I hope things move quickly now.

Yesterday, was a pretty enjoyable, but tiring day. DH walks at such a pace and forgets I can''t
The market was pretty rubbish, once we eventually found it that is. DD had told me that it was next to junior football ground, all we found was spanking new flats! She omitted the word NEW from her message!
However, I did buy a beautiful azalea for £5 and a vintage, collectible Stars Wars vehicle for £8. DS2, the forty year old child, who has a study full of Star Wars memorabilia. I know he will love it! I shall put it away in my present box.

I happened to mention to DH that years ago, behind the trees, there used to be a Matalan junk outlet shop.
He went for a look and lo and behold it was still there! Oh joy, an opportunity to rummage!
Despite the rubbish, I still managed to find some items.

Walking to the restaurant, I though I could hear my phone ringing, but due to the busy traffic, I couldn't quite hear. DH, being his usual impatient and hearing challenged self, marched on, saying I was imagining it. On arriving at the restaurant, I saw DD had been trying to contact me. On phoning back, Mum, don't worry, I can't speak, I'm in the middle of something and I need to deal with it. I then spent the time waiting for her to call, on tenterhooks.
She later phoned back in tears, ?, but they were tears of joy! She and DIL had put in a sealed bid for a house they had viewed on Tuesday and got it!
I was crying too, because it is such a seller's market here and houses are being sold within days, so they will only now be staying with us, until August! Wee Dollie is also delighted, because they had stolen her room here and she is not pleased at all! ?
I got home to find my neighbour had taken in this stunning bouquet from DD and SIL. It was a love surprise, as they had already bought me a mini greenhouse.

I need to get a move on, because we have another First Communion today and I am one of the sacristans. Rather than face the jobsworths at the locked gate, I am going out early and will sneak in the back way. ( If somehow I can negotiate the single lane roadworks.)
My children aren't too happy, that I won't be in, but I agreed to help, not realising the date!
Consequently, I am celebrating a sandwich birthday, the day before and the day after! ?

Have a pleasant day, whatever your plans. MOMB, hoping you have a successful outcome with the paperwork. How daunting it must be for that young family. Safe journey to all travellers and praying the poorly daughters have a gentle day.
To my lovely granspal, who sent me a card, and J, thank you. ? I shall contact you both when I get back.
