For all of us.

And I would like to share this…

I'm afraid I don't know who wrote this but I got it from my mother.

I love the Cherokee legend Shinamae
I will keep that with me

Marydoll Fri 05-Aug-22 07:20:06

I love them all!

The I'm fine resonates with me! That's what I always answer to any questions about me health.
However, one day I said this to my cardiologist and he answered, You are not really fine, are you? grin

I'm going to save the Cherokee one, too!

I hope you don't mind Shinamae, I have edited your quote (I liked it so much), so that I can print it out.

Ali23 Fri 05-Aug-22 08:11:01

Love these, thank you. The poem made me chuckle.
My husband always says “not too bad!”

Grannybags Fri 05-Aug-22 09:55:12

Love these!

I was brought up to answer 'I'm fine' if I was asked how I was - even if my leg was broken!

Serendipity22 Fri 05-Aug-22 10:55:50

Yes, absolutely, I reply when asked how I am ohh im fine. I refuse point blank to let anything negative to circulate the room hahahaha.......

Positivity lifts us up, up, up.

Love this quote, Shinamae

I was brought up to say I'm fine and still do it when the Dr .phones luckily she laughs and just asks what the problem is.
I do it at the Dentist and then give him a list of what has cracked or dropped off.
We've just had visitors among decoraters etc. I was really on my knees but when asked replied "I'm fine". It was considered polite not to give chapter and verse about ailments.

Oh gosh Chestnut I feel sure my nana used to quote bits from that one, my DM certainly did. Thank you!

Maybe it was doing the rounds of elderly ladies' groups!

Witzend Sat 06-Aug-22 10:31:01

‘Mustn’t grumble!’ is IMO a classic old response.

I came across this on Facebook recently. It's about the person you see in the mirror. It resonated with me:

I've told my mum off for saying 'I'm fine' to the doctor! I love the quotes very much. Great for self-doubters the first one. The light and dark motto should go on my wall now!

I’ve reported the spam

Chestnut, I found that poem among my Dad's things. He often used to quote from it, especially that his get up and go had got up and went.

I like to think that I feed the light and hope wolf but the other one sometimes steals his food.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Aug-22 12:24:07

AGA, or chases him out of the kitchen? ?

Crazymum Mon 08-Aug-22 12:28:11

I always ask people who say "im fine" "honestly how are you REALLY?" but never tell anyone how i am .
