Written in 'honour' of our ex sil - commonly know as the ar****le.

Honeysuckleberries Fri 19-Aug-22 11:52:49

I really don’t understand what you are on about.

Who is the curse aimed at? Who is your sister in law or is it son in law?

Why would you post such a nasty thing on gransnet.

I’m beyond baffled at such a sneering post.

FannyCornforth Fri 19-Aug-22 11:53:45

Oh dear Honey. You’ve really got the wrong end of the stick there

FannyCornforth Fri 19-Aug-22 11:55:20

It’s a brilliant poem Kitty ?‍♀️
Thank you for sharing it

Pheonix ?

Callistemon21 Fri 19-Aug-22 11:55:52

Thanks kittylester ?

I'd forgotten the exact words and the search facility on GN is not great.

Honeysuckleberries I'm afraid you don't get it!

Anniebach Fri 19-Aug-22 11:56:15

Thank you Kitty

welbeck Fri 19-Aug-22 11:58:48

well i don't get it either, and i don't want to.
i find those words disgusting.
i think it's wrong to wish evil on anyone.
if they have wronged you, just avoid them.

Namsnanny Fri 19-Aug-22 11:58:56

Easily done though FannyCornforth, if you're not 'up' on GN history.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 19-Aug-22 11:59:49

Brilliant Kitty May I borrow it and use it for my DD’s ex (known in our family as the idiot)

Callistemon21 Fri 19-Aug-22 12:01:54

Best not comment, really, if you have no clue as to the origins and have no clue whatsoever about the person who wrote the poem.

RIP phoenix, you are much missed. GN is not the same these days.

If you don’t ‘get’ something, it’s best to stay schtum, rather than jump in and insult the op.

Galaxy Fri 19-Aug-22 12:02:50

No I dont like it either. I am not interested in getting it. Like being at school.

Neither do I.

Will someone explain please, or is it a clique thing?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 19-Aug-22 12:04:01

I agree Callistemon21

RIP Phoenix ?

Most of the threads on GN these days are like being back at school unfortunately.

It was never like that years ago.

Why Fanny?

It has been published.

Therefore it is A Matter of Public Interest.

Therefore the OP has opened the door for public comment on what the OP has chosen to publish.

Thanks GrannyGravy. I’ve been racking my brain to think who had a sil named the idiot.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 19-Aug-22 12:08:40

kitty I couldn’t possibly repeat what our sons call him as I am a lady ??

Beechnut Fri 19-Aug-22 12:09:29

Crossed post. Or it could have been you kitty.

FannyCornforth Fri 19-Aug-22 12:10:34

StarDreamer, to answer your question: manners; politeness; having the common sense to realise that you don’t have to comment on everything.

No further comment from me

toscalily Fri 19-Aug-22 12:11:04

For those who don't get it, just for once let it go and yes, RIP Phoenix.

Honeysuckleberries Fri 19-Aug-22 12:14:07

Sorry I’m not part of the ‘in crowd’ with knowledge that you favoured ones have.

Who or what is a Phoenix, I thought it was a bird that turned to ash and came back in a burst of flames.

Posting a ‘hate’ verse is distasteful and as it was aimed at an ‘ex’ I presumed it was meant as a rebuke or curse at the person concerned.

I also have the right to my own opinion and the right to reply to a post.

Callistemon21 Fri 19-Aug-22 12:18:12

If you read todays' threads, honeysuckle you may find out.

Could you just leave it please?
You've said what you think twice now.

Shirley48 Fri 19-Aug-22 12:18:55

Surely, instead of bring so rude and cliquey, someone could just politely explain that Phoenix a Gransnetter who sadly died a year ago, had a wacky sense of humour and wrote a spell to be used for errant sons in law.
