grandMattie Mon 20-Mar-23 04:21:36

Good morning, Mick. All the best for your operation today.

fatgran57 Mon 20-Mar-23 04:27:18

All the best Mick.

An overcast sky this morning. I’ve done my usual, awake at 3am, wait for after 4am to get myself a drink, go back to bed and read.
It was disappointing at the early church service, not to be offered a posy. It is not always from choice that people attend the 8am service, when DH was alive, I went because I could go to church aa it is a short service.
My friend’s husband came soon after to dismantle the beds and move a single bed into my room. I managed to do all the laundry as well and hang it outside to dry…
In the afternoon, DGS and his lovely mum came round for a visit. Bless him, he’s 19 today, a great hulk of a lad; a far cry from the cuddly little boy who insisted on sleeping with me “until he was 16”. I’m giving him my car as a late birthday present.
Then, a nice surprise. My lovely Indian friend, Bhavna, came to mendhi my hands. We sat chatting for several hours waiting for it to dry. I now have a peacock on my right hand and a flower and creepers on my left!
Dentist this morning and a load of sorting out, phone calls…
May today bring nothing but gentleness and comfort to you all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning. Just popping in to wish you all the best for your operation today Mick after all the unfortunate delays.
Hopefully it won’t be too long until you are fully recovered and back into the swing of your normal routines. Take care.

MawtheMerrier Mon 20-Mar-23 05:10:37

All the best today Mick and a speedy recovery ☘️

Good morning everyone especially Mick, thinking of you today hope you’ve remembered to pack the essentials such as your charger for your mobile, a change of clothes etc etc spring is coming I hear the birds singing.

Yesterdays church service was brilliantly set out where the congregation sat around the communion table for the first time ever and I could see everyone face to face . because sitting at the front of the church in a wheelchair doesn’t cut it for me I can see no one, thank you to the previous minister who got rid of the pews and put in those comfy chairs which I well remember prior to stroke

I also had a brilliant Mother’s Day with a visit from my beautiful daughter and 2 lively grandsons who just love hugging their granny [smile

Have a good day my dear friends flowers

baubles Mon 20-Mar-23 05:57:39

Good morning all from dark and damp South Lanarkshire.

My very best wishes for today Mick.

Work today. The stronger painkillers are helping but making me nauseous. Rock and a hard place comes to mind.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 20-Mar-23 06:06:40

Good morning from a damp Torbay.

I hope all goes to plan with your surgery, Mick and you recover well. All the best.

It is sad for you not to have been given a posy, grandMattie. Your friend is very skilled with henna. Good luck at the dentist.

I had a quiet day yesterday apart from church in the morning and a FaceTime call from DS later with DGS3, aged 6, conversing with me from his bath. He has recently joined an acting class and was keen to tell me about it.

Today I hope my garage mechanic will have time to diagnose the problem with my car even if he can’t fix it immediately.

Have a good week, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

karmalady Mon 20-Mar-23 06:11:48

wishing Mick the best possible outcome today and a comfortable stay

good morning, a bland ok day weatherwise in s somerset

I had a brilliant clearing-out day yesterday, garden based. It was so lovely and sunny. I did not go cycling as my hands felt too cold outside of my enclosed back garden, it is no fun when my hands are freezing in my gloves. Weight lifting in my garden took over and the result was a much clearer space

spring equinox today and buds are opening

Abitbarmy Mon 20-Mar-23 06:19:19

Good morning from North Yorkshire, we are early birds this morning. I’ve got an early appointment for blood tests and need to wash hair etc first. Good Luck Mick hope all goes smoothly. GM, your hands remind me of that book about an Indian henna artist, can’t remember the title but very enjoyable story. Looks like rain most of the day today which means no gardening which is a shame. Will have to re-plan the day, hope everyone’s plans work out.

BlueSapphire Mon 20-Mar-23 06:21:26

Wishing you all the best Mick, will be thinking of you.

Good morning everyone from another warm and sunny day in South Africa. We are now in the Great Karoo region, and in one of the historic towns.
On our last (6am!) game drive yesterday we managed to see the lions at last. Also a baby giraffe.
Am going to have a wander around the town this morning, and then this afternoon we have a tour to the Valley of Desolation - which doesn't sound a bundle of laughs, does it?
Best wishes to all for a good Monday, especially Mick.

Grandmabatty Mon 20-Mar-23 06:23:43

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp. Heavy grey skies above. Mick best wishes for today. Baubles I'm sorry to hear that you are still in pain and the prescription is making you feel sick. Ash I hope your car is easily mended.
Yesterday was a bit of a non event for me as I was very sick again and felt unwell for a while. I wasn't at my friend's. Dd called in the afternoon with the boys and some gifts which were appreciated.
Today I'm looking after the boys. It was my decision as dd needs the childcare and I need a bit of normal life. My friend has others with her so she's never alone. Have a good day all

Susan56 Mon 20-Mar-23 06:24:16

Morning all from an overcast S Hants.
Hope today goes smoothly Mick and you’re soon home.
Pretty hands gMattie, a lovely gentle interlude for you.
We had a delicious lunch out with friends yesterday and I saw both of my children, also had my first yoga class.
I’m on school run this week, hence the early hour, volunteering day today and quiz tonight.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

kittylester Mon 20-Mar-23 06:31:47

Good morning all from a showery North Leicestershire.

Good luck today, Mick. Do let us know how you getvon.

A quick trip in to town for me before my volunteering stint this afternoon.

We had a lovely weekend with DD2 and family and also had visits from DD3 and DS 2.

Georgesgran Mon 20-Mar-23 06:34:54

Good morning from Durham. It’s overcast, but dry and still.
My dear friend’s funeral is at lunch time today, End of an era. 🤞 all goes well today Mick and you recover well post op.
Hope Gingster’s DD is making progress.
Best wishes to all. X

cornergran Mon 20-Mar-23 06:40:59

Morning Mick, morning All. A cloudy day is forecast for our corner of Somerset.

Wishing you well for today mick, soon be over.

Enjoyed a trip out yesterday morning in some very welcome sunshine. Our magnolia is opening, hope the frost won’t be back. The garden is full of spring flowers, love to see it

I seem to have some less common, unwelcome snd uncomfortable side effects from last weeks procedure which will slow me down today. A recommended decorator is coming to give a quote to refresh our living room, hope to get that booked once the shock of the cost has receded.

Thinking of grandmabatty snd everyone with heavy hearts

Hope Monday is kind to us all.

Marydoll Mon 20-Mar-23 06:43:50

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its 5°C and raining.

Many early risers this morning!

Yesterday I had a visit from DS2 and DIL. It is exactly four weeks to DIL's due date, so much of the conversation centred on the forthcoming birth.
Coincidentally, they arrived just as I was handwashing the family christening shawl.

I managed an hour in the gardening, but to my disappointment, so much has been killed off by the frost, including my beautiful agapanthus.😢
I have a lot of work to do, but it's now too much for me, so
DH will need to lend a hand, with the more taxing jobs.

I hope all goes well for your op, Mick. Baubles and GM Batty, get well soon.

No plans at all for today. I have an empty, DH is golfing in the rain, oh joy!

Have a good day folks.

Grandmabatty Mon 20-Mar-23 06:59:37

Georgesgran my heartfelt sympathies to you. As you know, I'll shortly be in the same situation. The end of an era indeed.

Susan56 Mon 20-Mar-23 07:02:43

Good morning from a dry and grey looking Essex by the sea.
I hope all goes well for you today Mick and that you have a speedy recovery.
I had lovely Mother's day chats with my girls yesterday and a beautiful flower arrangement arrived from DD2.
I also discovered that my email address had been hacked and a message sent to everyone of my contacts. I spoke to my techie SIL who gave me suggestions as to what I should do, hopefully no damage done.
I hope Monday is a good day for you all xx

glammagran Mon 20-Mar-23 07:05:36

Good morning all. We were going to DD2 for dinner on Saturday but it was postponed as both GCs had Noravirus on Thursday & Friday. I felt sorry for her as GS2 will turn 3 next April just when 2 year olds become eligible for free childcare so he will miss out. They are struggling somewhat with the cost of living.

We met up with the other 2 AC for lunch in a pub yesterday. I received 2 bouquets of lovely flowers, truffles and Nyetimber English sparkling wine. 12 year old GS1 has been made captain of his U13 swimming club. It was lovely to see them but I wasn’t impressed with the food. The pub did knock 3 of the mains from the bill. We dropped into the garden of DD2 (avoiding Noravirus!) and I got an orchid from her and a handbag mirror chosen by GD3. I felt quite overwhelmed with all my gifts.

Best wishes today for Mick. I hope your daughter is feeling a lot better Gingster.

Hope everyone has a good day and poorlies are better asap.

Kalu Mon 20-Mar-23 07:08:49

Good morning all from a dank and misty Glasgow.

All the best for today Mick
Baubles, I am prescribed Omeprazole to stop the nausea which unfortunately is part and parcel of taking stronger pain relief. They do work.
Hoping you pick up a bit today Grandmatty
Healing thoughts for your DD Gingster
Thank you for posting such a beautiful shot of my favourite animal, giraffe and her baby BlueSapphire. Such wonderful memories for you.

As the forecast is showing heavy rain, it will be an at home day pottering about.
#gloomy Monday.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all

brook2704 Mon 20-Mar-23 07:10:31

Good morning everyone from Spain where it’s forecast to be another warm sunny day
Hoping all goes well for you today mick and you’re back home soon
What beautiful photos BlueSapphire how lucky to see the lions on your last game drive, and the beautiful baby giraffe too! Memories to treasure forever
We’ve just two more days here then travelling home on Wednesday so today we’re going back to the beach area for a walk and just to relax in the sunshine. It’s been so cold at home, I’m sure my garden will have lots of frost damage too Marydoll it’s such a shame about your agapanthus, I really like those plants
Hoping you feel a bit better soon baubles and grandmabatty
Thinking of Gingster and her DD
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
