attaching a wreath to a double glazed front door

DH solved the problem by making a very wide, flat metal 'hook' - the top is bent so goes right over the door (the door still closes properly) and the outside front bit bends up into a hook to hang the wreath on iyswim

You by an overdoor hook. I got mine from Wilko but they are probably available on Amazon.

It's a bit like this, but very slim metal and the bit that comes down the back (inside of the door) is longer

Try Command hooks, available in Homebase and suchlike places; stick up, pull to remove after Christmas. Wilko have them too, I think

You could attach it to the wall next to the front door. A friend always makes a fabulous and ridiculously over the top wreath that is too big for the door but looks brilliant next to it.

Is the glass on your door smooth? Ours is certainly not.
you can get suction hooks, The glass on mine is patterned It is an Aldi wreath and is staying stuck on now.
Most good hardware shops have them.

Similar idea from me Suey. Saw this somewhere a few days ago. Get a hook, attach to the inside of the door but upside down. Ribbon from wreath can then hold on hook, pass over top of door and hang wreath on the outside. Door will still shut

That's what we do Spyder-can't remember where we got the idea from but it works well.

A suction hook, we have a large clear coloured one that you hardly notice and takes a good sized wreath.

Fishing line - practically invisible and will take the weight of the heaviest wreath once you buy one strong enough. Pliable enough to knot inside the door once brought over the top and down and around your letterbox - presuming your door has one

You can get both the hook and suction pad at Lakeland probably on line too.

I solved this problem by having a wreath on the inside of the door as well. Both wreaths are joined by a length of narrow ribbon hung over the top of the door so that they sit directly behind each other - traditional twigs & greenery on the outside and white feather wreath on the inside. I also have metal wreath hangers (from Lakeland I think) which I use on the lounge and bedroom doors. Some metal hangers are too narrow to fit over thicker double glazed UPVC doors.

I did it with the upside down hook on the inside too which worked well - the hook is still there so I'll use it again this year.

I use the upside-down hook and ribbon system but really like the idea of one wreath outside and one inside.

I don't know if they still do them but I have a large clear suction hook from Lakeland. It's very strong and you can't see it when the wreath is in place and it's never come off even through strong winds.

DD bought me a suction hook a couple of years ago and it's worked brilliantly.
