As a Labour Party volunteer Campaign Officer I have been too busy to have done much Christmas preparation and am now totally drained after 6 hard weeks and a only 4 hours sleep the last few nights. What ever your thoughts on the election, please spare a thought for this arthritic Nana who is in need of helpful suggestions to “Get Christmas Done”. I’ve managed to put a frozen turkey in the freezer and DGDs “helped” me make the Christmas cake and Christmas Pudding during November half term. Now for everything else.....

The internet is your friend.

I have never made a cake, a pudding, cooked a turkey.

We survived.

Buy every thing. You can ‘tart up’ shop bought in your own dishes with a bit of garnish, and if you hide the packaging no one will know!

Get everything else delivered, frozen - and enjoy!

You may be too late now to book aChristmas delivery spot. If that is your plan then I think you need to book it today.

By the time you get to the shops, everything will be half price. Lucky you. smile

I've just come back from a very nice lunch with our Minister for Social Development and Disability Issues and she served some wonderful salads; cooked ham and these desserts.

Our elections are in 2020.

reikinana why not make this the year that you cut back on all the unnecessary "stuff". Have a simple Christmas, have your turkey with a few frozen veg, buy a frozen pud of some sort, add lots of love and laughter. Job done.
