This is a somewhat irreverent, alternative Christmas carol I wrote to remind myself that I still had lots to be grateful for in difficult times. Including yourselves.
Away in a lockdown
My other half said
There's a lot in the freezer
We have fruit, veg and bread
So look on the bright side
Let us feast while we may
Drink the wine, eat the cheeses
'Cause it's still Christmas Day.
The cold winds are blowing
Our joints and hearts ache
The news gives us seizures
So let us eat cake
And wish Happy Christmas
To friends far and nigh
Who light up our lives
Like the stars light the sky.
Thank you all.
