It's that time of year again...

If you are stuck for gift ideas for family/friends, look no further than our round-up of the best books for Christmas. From psychological thrillers to women's fiction, autobiographies to cookbooks (and everything in between), there really is something for everyone.

And, as ever, we are giving one lucky person the chance to win everything featured on the page...worth over £800. All you have to do is tell us, on this thread, who you'd most like to find under your tree this Christmas (and why).

We will be drawing a winner at random at midday on Monday 16 December. Terms and conditions apply - more details on the page.

I’d like to find my DD2 and her family under the tree - all the way from NSW. That would be the best present ever. How about it Santa!? ??

The musician James Bay, I love his music, he's an accomplished guitar player and songwriter, also during his interviews he comes across as a decent human being, oh, and he's easy on the eye!

My aunt from Australia

I would love to find a photo of my Grandchildren, you can never have too many.

janeyf Mon 18-Nov-19 12:50:14

Lewis Hamilton because I admire him and would like a Christmas kiss plus it would make a change from just receiving an LH calendar :-)

I would like to have my grandfather, who died more than 20 years ago, under my tree so that I could sit and really talk to him about all the things that were important to him - all the things that I just don't know about when he grew up and what life was like for him. People don't always realise that when people have gone there is still so much that you should have asked when you had the chance. He was a wonderful man and I still miss him.

I would like to find my foster son under the Christmas tree. He lived with us for eleven years and now lives in Taiwan. He does try to visit us most years, but it would be lovely to have him home for Christmas.

i would love to find my mum and dad who have sadly passed.

mumu54 Mon 18-Nov-19 13:04:25

I would love my late husband to be under the tree. We were apart for a lot of our marriage as he worked overseas for months at a time and he died very suddenly, so a day with him would be the best Christmas present ever!

I’d love to find Billy Connolly under my tree to make us all laugh out loud this Christmas. He’s been an inspiration to me for ever.

ricola Mon 18-Nov-19 13:06:24

A new dressing gown as I stupidly fence painted in mine and ruined it

ricola Mon 18-Nov-19 13:08:31

Ant and Dec because they'd make me laugh

SueRJ Mon 18-Nov-19 13:09:04

I would love to find Bradley Walsh under the tree. He's such a lovely happy character and would keep us all amused all Christmas.

GeminiJen Mon 18-Nov-19 13:14:41

I'd like to find my mother there, in the form of a ghost from Christmas past. As a great reader, she would no doubt be working her way through this tremendous selection of books! grin
She died before my children were born so I'd love her to meet them and enjoy the day with us all.
And, having recently started to research her side of the family tree, I have so many questions I'd like to ask her. So, once the kids were tucked up in bed, that's how I'd like to end the day with her, reminiscing over a glass or two of something sparkling. If only....

I'd love to find my late nan under our Christmas tree, she left before my children were born, she was the one person in my life who taught me good morals, they way we should be in life and I'd love her to still be around to help support my children in their learning of the world.

I'd love a digital photo frame filled with happy memories of family times past, so I can look and smile on days when it's hard to find a smile.

I would love to see the late great Kenny Everett, he made my cry with laughter (in the best possible taste)
