Awake early this morning for the usual toilet vist and i just could not get back to sleep. All the pictures in the papers and on TV of people panic buying preying on my mind. I don't want to be like them and only need a small amount of shopping this week but i lie awake worrying if i am going to be able to get what i need, rather than what i want!!! Is it maybe time for the Government to introduce some sort of rationing so that everyone gets a little of everything. What do you think?

I think that once everyone has overstocked on everything they can think of, things will level out again. Once the pandemic is over the shops will be reducing toilet rolls like mad as everyone is using up supplies.

I walked into town yesterday, I usually go to Morrisons. Got to the doors and there were no trolleys left. I couldn’t face it. People pushing trolleys piled high, some couples with one each.
I went to the Polish shop and got cheese, veg, noodles, bread, crackers and some packet soups . Enough for this week. I stocked up on cat food a while ago and haven’t used it.
Rationing would be fairest, it would suit me, but I doubt it would come to having vouchers, or coupons. Shops could impose their own limits. It wouldn’t stop families getting the maximum amount each, but that has always happened when there are limits on some special offers.
Things will settle down. Hopefully. As long as food can be imported and distributed. I am trying not to worry.

I'm cross at the front pages of newspapers showing huge pictures of empty shelves in shops. It's enough to panic anyone. So much irresponsible journalism around. angry

It's very odd this panic buying, Ive not actually met anyone who has admitted to buying anything extra this week! Everyone says they just bought their usual bits and pieces!

I admit, I have bought a few extra tins of tuna and corned beef but I don't have room for tons of stuff. What I am doing is making sure that my fridge and cupboards do not run down, as soon as I opened my last pack of butter, which will last me a week or so, I bought another one rather than wait until next week. I will do that with all food stuffs while inam still able to go outside everyday!

We bought a few extra tins of tomatoes and beans as I am self-isolating. I also bought some extra meat to freeze. I'm lucky (maybe) as my husband is younger and fitter than I am and can go to the supermarket.

It's just what he will buy that will be the problem!

The police were called to our local Tesco yesterday as two men were literally fighting over packs of nappies.

Even bottled water has been flying off the shelves here locally. What is wrong with the liquid which comes out of a tap?

Crazy - Madness - Insensitive - absurdity ...

Saw a man (TV) being interviewed whilst loading up his car with shopping. Admitted to buying far more than usual. When asked why, his reply was "Well everyone else was".

I asked a lady in front of me in queue why she was buying 40 toilet rolls as we were discussing the virus while waiting to pay, she said I’m just looking after my own, I don’t know how many own she was talking about. Me I just had my normal shopping
