One rule for us, another rule for 'them'

Why are MPs still 'gathering' in parliament when groups of more than 2 people have been banned? Surely MPs could conduct their meetings through online hook-ups like we're urged to do.
This looks like one law for them and another for us.

Well someone has had to run the country and get the new legislation through.

Anyway, I think that they are due to have their Easter Break early, so I’m not sure how it will work with daily briefings etc.

Perhaps it is because they are running the country?
Only those asking questions are allowed into the House, and they are all well-spaced apart.

As of the end of today, as far as I understand it, parliament is in recess. MPs will be working in their own constituencies but not holding face to face surgeries with constituents. The wheels of government go on but parliament isn't sitting.

I kinda think they count as keyworkers now more than ever

In my job we often use conference calling anyway due to distance and much time is wasted with mic issues etc.

I would rather they met and cracked on than spend the first half an hour sorting glitchy IT

They’re not.
Parliament goes into recess for Easter or whatever the phrase is a week early starting tomorrow.
Any live broadcasts on TV will have shown both chambers practically deserted.

The Commons and Lords is now in recess.

Yes - this is now redundant - they have recessed early - and IMO about time too.
