Visiting my 93 year old mum

My mum is 93 and lives alone, about ten minutes away from me. Mum suffers from arthritis and general old age but is otherwise healthy. Due to her limited mobility, she is unable to go out unless I take her.
Should I go to her house and spend time with her? It seems unfair to abandon her but at the same time I don’t want to risk passing on the dreaded bug.

Can you speak through the window or in the garden 6 feet apart?

My mum is in care but there is no visiting. She is 99 and will be 100 in September. I wonder if she will be around then and if we will be able to celebrate.

Between a rock and a hard place. You are allowed to go to help a vulnerable person but you would not want to risk carrying the virus to them.
Could you get a local mini-market to deliver to her and just speak to her on the telephone?

This is very hard for you & your mum.

Howabout you take your daily walk to her front door, ring her from your mobile & have a chat with her face to face through a closed window. Far from perfect & maybe not possible.

But it would be very foolish for you to & fro between your home & here.

The absolute option would be for you to move in, quarantine yourself before you go & again when you are there for x days & stay with her for the duration.

I took my mam a few bits and bobs the other day. I put them on the doorstep and stood well back. We had a conversation that way. It works well whilst the weather is nice.
