Yeah go for Facebook. Just be careful with your level of security and what information you put on your posts. You can join many groups. I’m a member of a lot of crochet groups where you can get free patterns etc and pick up ideas. There’s also groups for cats, dogs etc or any other interest you have.

Yes, about 2.5 billion monthly.

Yes still busy and active though I’ve been thrown out temporarily and going backwards and forwards with new passwords. I would be inclined to set up a separate e-mail address and be sparing with your private information initially.

Local Facebook group has been giving a great deal of useful information regarding shops that will deliver etc. The Council are also giving information regarding bin collections and other services via Facebook. You don't actually have to give any information about yourself if you don't want to.

I have just joined in order to keep up with what is going on in the local community and surgery. But I must say I find it a complete jumble!!

I do but mainly to get news of old old friends or family far away.,anyone who blathers on about what they had for dinner or how drunk they were last week gets unfollowed quite swiftly.

People are still on facebook but mainly use whatsapp for meaningful conversations.

Yes I find it very useful or keeping in touch with family and friends.
I also belong to a couple of photography groups, and a group which shares photos and memories of my home town.

In normal times, I get information about concerts and gigs and other events which I otherwise wouldn’t know were happening.

Yes. And I was sniffy about it until Corona hit.
Through FB, I have found:
volunteers who call on my dad every morning to check he is okay and bring him milk and bread (i visit once a week as its a 1.5 hr journey each way and take him shedloads of food up).
* local companies who deliver not only food, but garden centres who will bring supplies.
* i have had the opportunity to volunteer my services in the village. I walk a dog for a 94 year old and have just dropped some paperbacks and dvds off at a nursing home.

There is a lot of bad about social media, but it is capable of so much good too.

I am a member, occasionally have a look, never post on it or like or comment.
I do use messenger though, and have a small group of friends and relatives that talk and message a lot.

I use it a lot. Keep in touch with family and belong to some local pages for where I grew up so have caught up with old friends too. Family history groups and a couple games I enjoy. I don't use Twitter or any phone apps. Just make sure you have highest security settings and be careful who you accept as friends.
Messenger is good and also has video chat.

I love FB and use all the local sites and they all seem verY very active I ve just been talking to our local mayor on there and yes there’s a lot of good people out there

I've been thrown out twice by Mr Zuckerburg because of my comments about a certain countries clothing websites that scam people.

Yes I still love FB. I was very reluctant to join but I've never looked back. It's a way of keeping in touch with friends near and far, old and new. Just watch your security settings and what info you put on there.

I’ve never signed up to it. No interest in it.

I’ve used FB for over 10 yeas. I’ve found old school friends on it and stay in touch with friends and family using it while living overseas.

It’s nice to see photographs from people at home and keep up to date with their lives.

Now, I’m using it to keep in touch daily. Make sure people are ok.

Yes I use Facebook, keep up to date with things going on locally. I also belong to lots of book groups. Watch your privacy settings and you will find a mine of information on there.

Most areas have a local Facebook page, great for local news.
We have a local corona group, run by volunteers. It’s invaluable, giving lists of small businesses who deliver essentials, particularly given the difficulty getting supermarket deliveries,

Yes, and, as others have said, that is where neighbourhood help groups have set up for vulnerable local people.

If you come into the vulnerable category it may be worth checking that out.

I rejoined Facebook recently after deleting my account some years ago. I use it for recipes and ideas. The local page is useful for finding out what is going on in our area. I only have relatives as friends.

I love Facebook I have only half a dozen " friends " mostly relations but I subscribe to feeds for my hometown, the next town , the town where we used to live , crime book readers , slow cooker users . The list is endless . I love to share memories of my childhood with the people I probably grew up with. It is a great way to see how and what the family are doing . I only post to frieds and the groups I belong to and hide the names of my friends . This is a good way to avoid scammers taking over your account .
