Like many people of a mature age, I was told by my grown up children that I should order our prescriptions online in this coronavirus world. Against my better judgement, I registered online, did all the techie stuff and ordered a prescription on 30th Martch for my OH's medication - a fairly lengthy list since his stroke in May 2018. When I ordered he had 2 weeks worth of all medications left, and I thought "Ooh that should be enough ..." Our GP surgery gets very uppity if you order when you still have more than 14 days of medication left. After 2 weeks ( 14th April) I had to go to the GP surgery to say the medication had not arrived and could they issue an emergency prescription? Then I went to the chemist on Wednesday - as advised - no emergency prescription, but the pharmacist issued a small amount of each drug to tide the OH over for a week. He also said "Come back Saturday and I should have the rest of it for you.." Frustration levels were HIGH ............

So .... I spent over an hour this afternoon waiting at Boots for my husband's prescriptions,(ordered online as I had been told to, and still not here after three weeks ...what a s***show) and still no emergency prescription ? then spent 5 minutes getting "essentials" from my local M & S Foodhall (no queue outside - this isn't just lockdown ....this is M & S lockdown.....) I was so overwhelmed by the colour of the fresh veg ? I bought lots of bright bright bright red tomatoes and green green green salad leaves (so middle class ?) and also Sipsmith Gin ?? (absolutely the most essential of all). When I got to the check out, masked and covered head to foot in gloves, coats, hood, trousers, the cashier said cheerfully "So it's home to put the kettle on and put your feet up " I said "No, it's home for a very very large gin - sod what happens after that..." ??????
