One Day of Lockdown in the time of coronavirus

I am seriously thinking about making a video for you tube and calling it One Day of Lockdown In the Time of Coronavirus which is, obviously, in homage to Solshenitsyn and Marqez.

This is because this year, 2020, is going to be major historically on a par with the Black Death, the fire of London, world wars etc and the diary's that people kept in those times have become invaluable to social scientists and historians. I expect that there are people now who will be keeping diary's and journals maintaining this tradition but I think that if thousands of people make a video diary of one day of this time it could be invaluable in the future.

I would like to know what people think of this idea and, indeed, is anyone is doing this? If so are they using a laptop and, anyway, how do you make a video for you tube?

I have a feeling there will be many people doing this sort of thing. I’m sure utube has videos telling you how.

My diary would be very boring

Day 1 through to present day.........stayed indoors.

Only 4 days would have ‘went out to get click and collect shopping’

I doubt anyone would be interested in my cupboard cleaning or sowing carrots.

Sigh.......

Quite a lot of daily vloggers are already doing this - a day in lockdown teaching the children, a day in lockdown with the supermarket haul, etc. etc. Amazing how you can fill 30-40 minutes of nothingness grin

This time will certainly be recorded in history as momentous.

But one day of my lockdown has been the same as the other 50 days. Not very exciting.

I have been well and truly misunderstood here. Yes, its boring, That can be the point. Its about how you cope with your boredom. Hundreds of WW1 soldiers kept illegal diaries whilst they were in the trenches waiting for the big push and the one thing that comes over is that they were bored. Its not a case of trying to be interesting. Its also nothing to do with vloggers either. Vloggers post hundreds or even thousands of times. I am talking about thousands posting once.

If recording this is left to the press and to vloggers it will be all about a few journalists opinions and a few vloggers who should have been opera singers. (Me me me...geddit?)

Incidentally many people have become very creative or got new hobbies or started to train for a change of job during this lock-down. Not every one is boring and thats the point too.
