Anyone experienced a hotel post lock down?

I would email the Hotel and ask what they are doing ?

I’ll be watching this thread with interest. We are having a wall knocked down and a new kitchen in a few weeks time. My lungs are not in good shape so I will need to get out of the house.

I don’t know whether to inflict myself on my daughter or to stay in a hotel somewhere interesting, maybe Shrewsbury.

We stayed three nights in a city centre hotel in Leeds last month. It felt very safe, lots of precautions were taken. They didn’t make up the rooms but clean towels/linen and replenishments for tea & coffee were readily available.

We weren’t asked to remove dirty bed linen or anything like that.

I’m staying overnight in a Premier Inn shortly. I’ll report back.

DD stayed in a large hotel immediately after lockdown was lifted. All seemed as normal to her apart from obviously newly recruited staff finding their way in new jobs. All rooms deep cleaned plus a 'fogger' used to disseminate antibacterial stuff. 72 hours between room lets too.
Mealtimes were carefully booked in advance and tables set apart. All staff in visors and /or masks.
My friend stayed in a country hotel last weekend. They were briefed on arrival and, among other things, told that she would have an assigned chambermaid to do up her room and no other staff allowed into her room at any time.
I suspect that most hotels will be trying very hard as its just not worth their while to take risks.

We went to a lavender hotel it was excellent all precautions were being observed and it was limited capacity. There was no breakfast buffet so waitress cam and took order which was nice . Had to book swim times no sauna or steam room . You had to be out of room a bit earlier to allow for cleaning. Also been to Center Parcs and again was 65% capacity. Had to book swim slots which were 2 of 2 hours each . Could only arrive after 2 and had to vacate cabin by 9 but could be on site couple of hours either side. Really enjoyed both . Hope that puts your mind at rest.

I stayed in a hotel recently and beds were all made as normal. Towels etc. were not changed during the stay but you could ask for it.
The dining room was prebooked and tables spaced out. Everything seemed to be done very well.

We have just returned from a 3 night break in the Yorkshire Dales.
We stayed in a boutique hotel, just 6 rooms.
It was fabulous, the only change was that your room wasn’t serviced.
I actually prefer this, I don’t need someone to tidy up after me everyday!

Please do,*geekesse*. We have chosen a Premier Inn on the assumption the bigger chains would have good cleaning procedures in place.

Ellianne we've stayed in a Premier Inn recently.
It was excellent, spotlessly clean. There's a detailed description on the website of the extra measures in place. They change the shower curtain between each booking for example. Screens and one way signs for guidance.
I felt perfectly safe being there and would be happy to go again.

We stayed in a Best Western hotel in Aberdeen . We really were not happy with it . We went to our room to discover it had not been made up since the last guests left. We waited a long time for a new room and we asked if it had been deep cleaned and they said it had . However I found dust round the legs of the table . Guests were asked to wear masks while walking around the hotel some did some did not and the hotel said they could not police it . They were only operating with a skeleton staff and when I complained the manager told me they were struggling with finances .

We had a few nights in a hotel in Devon three weeks ago. It was a hotel we love and one we have stayed at before.

They took our temperature on arrival and did the same for staff each day when they turned up for work.

They had a policy of restricting the number of guests so the hotel wasn’t crowded.

They serviced the room each day but we had the option to not have it done.

We had breakfast and dinner there and the waiters/waitresses all wore masks.

We had a great time. The weather was warm and sunny, and we explored the area by car every day.

Most importantly I felt completely safe with the arrangements the hotel had made.

We weren’t asked to do anything with the bed linen when we left !

Premier Inns operating as normal except there is no buffet breakfast. You have to order at your table but they bring anything you want so still very good value.

We had a week in an AirBnB cottage. It was spotlessly clean, wipes and sanitisers everywhere, we were asked if we wanted to bring our own bed linen and towels, but opted for them to be provided. Only change was at the end being asked to strip the beds and put bedding and towels into black plastic bags in the utility room, which we were happy to do.

I stayed one night in a Premier Inn recently. It was absolutely fine, I felt safe. No special instructions 're bed linen. As someone said above, there was no breakfast buffet (but we ate breakfast out anyway).

There's a lot of normality out there

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at hotel in Eastbourne. Rooms were very clean,social distancing throughout hotel,masks worn in public areas ,breakfast was table service. They really needed extra staff to cope at serving as quite long waits at breakfast and bar. But just great to have a break opposite the beach after being cooped inside for months.

We stayed in the Cotswolds a couple of weeks ago for 2 nights, shortly after hotels had reopened. I picked a smallish but nice hotel that we had been to previously. The hotel had good measures in place. Staff wore masks and had a one way system in place. We put the 'do not disturb' notice on door second day so that no staff came in room and just made our own bed. We felt safe. I don't think I'd be happy in a large, busy hotel.

I stayed in a Premier Inn a couple of weeks ago. Room very clean. Tea and coffee making still available in the room.
They will only clean the room every 3 days of your stay. But it does get cleaned between each new guest.
No buffet service, all sit down for breakfast. You get the option of full breakfast or continental. I chose continental as I don't each much at breakfast. Slightly disappointed that you only have options now of either crossients, toast or something else [ can't remember off hand ]. You can't have all three. So two slices of toast, butter and jam and a coffee was £6.99 which is a rip off! For a buffet breafast you used to get the choice of crossients, toast, muffins, cereal etc, and allowed to pick and choose how much you wanted.
You could get a drink in the evening at the bar, but again seated service only.
You are meant to wear masks in indoor spaces, but very few guests were doing this. Hand sanitiser was available at reception. It all felt okay and safe to me and I would do it again, but give the breakfast a miss!

Stayed in Premier Inn last month, all very clean and efficiently organised. Would recommend. The superfluous cushions etc had been removed, much less cluttered! I think that there was a notice to the effect that rooms would not be serviced in stays of less than ??3 days.
