Did this really happen or have I fallen down the rabbit hole?

suziewoozie Tue 06-Oct-20 15:01:41

Agreed merlot and I’ve got my fingers crossed that he gets what he deserves.

Your comments on here are so funny. I know many of you are not US citizens so it is somewhat comforting that people in other countries can't stand the destructive, divisive Covidiot. He actually makes me want to leave my country. I've lived in Germany and Canada so it doesn't scare me to go again.

Just don’t vote for him and he will be gone!!

A frightening prediction from Bannon

If he was really sick and the doctors cured him with various drugs I do hope they tell the world's doctors about the cocktail of drugs so that others may be saved from the virus.

That would be one good thing to come out of this whole sorry episode.

Good joke on the News Quiz- of course we hope Trump gets better, in fact we really wish he would get better.

AGAA4 Tue 06-Oct-20 16:37:44

Trump is on dextamethasone which a doctor said can hide symptoms of Covid and can make him feel good.
He was visibly finding breathing difficult when he was on the balcony.
He has told the American people not to fear Covid as they will be fine. I wonder what those who have lost loved ones think of that?
He is totally irresponsible.

Blimey! That’s why Trump is saying so much about postal votes. He is trying to brainwash his supporters into believing that somehow the postal voting system is fraudulent. There is going to be hell to pay it seems to me.

Facebook have deleted a post from DT saying flu is more deadly than the virus. Twitter have placed it under a warning that it is not true.

Grannynannywanny Tue 06-Oct-20 17:08:51

Just reading there are now 15 of his inner circle who’ve tested positive.

MayBee70 Tue 06-Oct-20 17:50:15

Dr John Campbell’s latest blog goes into great detail about the cocktail of drugs he’s on and some seem to counteract the benefits of others. Dexamethasone is usually only given to people that are very seriously ill. If I donated my plasma I’d be really braised off to find Trump had been given it!

Whitewavemark2 Tue 06-Oct-20 18:13:36

Anyone watching CNN?

Reporting that a Trump is pressurising the drug companies to say they have a vaccine before the Election Day and regardless of whether the vaccine is ready or would pass the appropriate scrutiny etc.

varian Tue 06-Oct-20 18:18:56

It goes beyond pressurising WW he is actually prohibiting them from carrying out the tests necessary before any vaccine can be approved by the USA Food and Hygiene Authority.

It is absolutely essential for the Trump campaign that there can be a "miracle American vaccine" announcement before the date of the elecetion.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 06-Oct-20 18:25:40

There is nothing to say is there?

varian Tue 06-Oct-20 18:30:16

Sorry, I meant the USA Food and Drugs Authority (obviously a front for the Democrats)

Please forgive me for being daft
But why is it so important that Trump gets a second term, and to whom?
Why is it so important globally?
Please for heaven's sake, be gentle with me, I loathe the man.

Badgranma Tue 06-Oct-20 18:43:57

He’s not really got it. He is pretending. What an arse! If he had it he would be too ill to grandstand like he is. He’s old and fat. It’s a ruse to get the sympathy vote and to dupe people that it’s not so bad. It is bad, but acknowledging that won’t get him elected. He is superman but it’s all total total bs.

I have to take steroids intermittently for asthma, at the beginning of the course when the dosage is high I definitely feel much better than I am with increased energy. These decrease along with the decreasing dose. He will come down with a heavy bump!!!

Yes, I experience the same.
Let's hope he gets that "heavy bump" !!

It isn’t it would be the worse of results. It is only important for Trump and his cult followers imo.

Facebook has deleted a post in which President Trump had claimed Covid-19 was "less lethal" than the flu.

Mr Trump is at the White House after three days of hospital treatment having tested positive for the virus.

He wrote the US had "learned to live with" flu season, "just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!"

Twitter hid the same message behind a warning about "spreading misleading and potentially harmful information".

Users have to click past the alert to read the tweet.

"We remove incorrect information about the severity of Covid-19, and have now removed this post," said Andy Stone, policy communications manager at Facebook.

An exact mortality rate for Covid-19 is not known, but it is thought to be substantially higher - possible 10 times or more - than most flu strains, according to Johns Hopkins University.

FannyCornforth It is important to Trump that he is elected for a second term because he will have another four years in the White House. He has found it far harder work than he expected, but he is in his element being able to hire and fire as he wishes, and bully people into agreeing with him or losing their jobs.

Through this policy (or if it isn't a "policy" then by having a certain personality and acting in a certain way) he has disposed of one lot of advisors after another who tried to guide him, and is left only with yes-men. It is important to them that he gets a second term, because their jobs depend on him.

There is also the fact that while in office he is immune to a lot of nasty legal stuff that will be waiting for him when/if he stops being POTUS and returns to being an ordinary citizen.

GrannyGravy13, in the past I've been given an overall steroid to reduce the inflammation causing RA to flare and stop me functioning. The effects are amazing. For the first time, I understood by some people abuse steroids.
Trump said he feels better than he did 20 years ago. The injection I had lasted about 3 months. He was breathless on the WH balcony though. What a mess!

annodomini Tue 06-Oct-20 20:07:14

Iam64, the steroid 'high' is a fact. Both my dad and I had polymyalgia rheumatica (not at the same time) treated with prednisolone, a common steroid. We were amazed at the change in Dad after just a day or two; and in my case, after I could barely lift my arms, the steroid had me out walking six miles within a few days. Not surprising therefore, that Trump is 'on a high'.

He announced that there will be no Stimulus deal prior to the election- But the Fed suggested in so many words how much such a decision could negatively impact the economy-
