This is happening tonight.

Clap for Carers which is nationwide this evening, 8pm on your own doorstep, to give a round of applause for the NHS and all carers - it's nationwide and is being advertised on BBC Breakfast, the radio etc.

Pass the word round and rally friends and neighbours. We may not be able to sing from our balconies but this is something we can join in with.

Yes of course. I thought it was just on Classic FM but glad to hear its everywhere.

Please pass the word.

Is everyone ready to clap and cheer for the NHS in a few minutes, at 8pm?

Did you clap? A huge percentage of my neighbours came to their doors. The nurse who lives opposite closed her curtains in the dark and didn't acknowledge us. Perhaps she is shy!

Oh dear, as if the Corona virus wasn't bad enough, now it's clap for carers. Terrible, I hope they can get treatment during the lockdown.

Fantastic response in our area, most people outside their houses clapping, cheering and whooping. Very moving

I did. It started in a very British, controlled way but was very moving as everyone joined in.

Quite an emotional experience; glad I took part in it.

I clapped. It was very emotional, and emotional still today when watching various film clips. Glad I took part.

Sorry I missed this.
I think it was Wednesday I got the bus back from a nearby shop - hoping it was empty which it was.
Waiting at the bus stop was a lady who seemed not much younger than me, ( I'm 80+) but a bit more doddery. We got chatting and she told me she was going to work. I asked what was her work and she said she's a carer. In an old age home. shock.
She talked about how lonely the old people were without their visitors.
There are so many wonderful people around.

Really good in our close last night- good to see the children as well and they are being so good with the small amount of time outside they are allowed.
