We live in N. Tyneside and there's a regular bus service to Whitley Bay on the coast about 15 miles away.
Is this illegal?

I think if it’s outside your area it’s against the lockdown rules. Some visitors to Blackpool have been turned back this weekend.

Oooo the NE coast. My favourite is Cambois. Lovely big, long, empty beach.

I understood that we aren't supposed to go more than 6 miles unless it's travel to work etc.

A lot of people are doing it Fennel. I was on my beach yesterday and the people were from Newcastle, 34 miles away.

It is still local area only at the moment .

I'm sure the bus is operating legally so people can go to work or support vulnerable people in their bubble

Yes

yes it's illegal. I am 16 miles from the norfolk coast and cannot go there. Stay local means in the vicinity of where you live

Sadly, I think we still have to stay close to home.
We’re about twenty miles from the nearest coast, and on Sunday, a perfect spring day, I would have loved to have gone, but I think we have to wait a while longer.
It’s one of the things I miss most.
