Just that really. With more or less all restrictions being lifted today, will you continue to wear a mask in shops and on public transport? Personally, I feel safer wearing a mask when out and about - but will I be the only one???

I’ll be wearing mine

FannyCornforth Thu 27-Jan-22 10:08:34

Yes. Definitely

FannyCornforth Thu 27-Jan-22 10:09:09

Not that I go on public transport; I wouldn’t want to either

I will wear one in shops. Public transport here still insists on masks (though I am avoiding it due to high levels of covid).

Lincslass Thu 27-Jan-22 10:10:56

Yes definitely, why wouldn’t you.

henetha Thu 27-Jan-22 10:11:16

Yes, definitely. The numbers infected are still too high for me to feel safe.

Not using public transport just now, but will wear a mask in shops. Trying to avoid crowded places. 16 out of 32 in GD’s class have covid / tested positive. Omicron may be milder, but I don’t want to get it, nevertheless.

What? Don't you have to?

Violettham Thu 27-Jan-22 10:19:28

yes

You’ve made me feel better already! I was beginning to think it was just me being overly cautious. With the numbers (particularly daily deaths) so high, I don’t know why the government is removing simple things like mask-wearing. It gives totally mixed messages - on the one hand ‘get vaccinated’ whilst on the other hand ‘COVID’s not that bad now’. angry I think I’ll still be wearing my mask!

janeainsworth Thu 27-Jan-22 10:21:09

Restrictions lifted from today nanna8.

I’ll still be wearing mine.

Yes. I'm going to my hair clinic today. I will be wearing my mask. I assume they will be carrying on as normal there. Stylist as mask, visor, apron. They use disposable towels and capes and sterilise brushes and combs regularly. They have been very careful.

I am going to do my shop later on today, Sainburys have asked all their customers to wear a mask. I will wear mine.

Greenfinch Thu 27-Jan-22 10:26:54

I definitely will .GSI (aged 14 ) is now doing remote learning as it is a big school and they have run out of supply teachers and cover teachers. His twin sister goes to a different school and I think it will be her turn soon. 50% of her year 10 class have COVID. Both schools are advising students to still wear masks though they obviously can’t enforce it now with the relaxing of the rules.

I have never stopped and will still wear one.

Pudding123 Thu 27-Jan-22 10:31:15

I will carry on wearing one in the supermarket other shops and on public transport (especially in the cold weather..it keeps my chin warm)

Redhead56 Thu 27-Jan-22 10:32:51

I am unsure going out later I will see how I feel at the time.

FannyCornforth Thu 27-Jan-22 10:32:53

It’s not ideal for the CEV sad
I heard on the radio that Scotland have got some sort of system in place that the CEV ‘identify themselves’ (nice) so that people know to keep their distance.

Does anyone know anything about that?

Tina that’s scary re your GD’s class

Riverwalk Thu 27-Jan-22 10:36:42

I will on public transport and enclosed small places.

This afternoon my friend and I are going to the theatre, travelling by public transport - be interesting to see what others do.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 27-Jan-22 10:36:46

I probably will still especially in medical establishments. I’ll judge each situation and decide. Going to the supermarket today and will wear it as it’s a busy one. I wouldn’t dream of walking in the hospital without one. I’d like our country to get into the mindset like Asia where they wear them not only for bad air quality but if the have a cold cough or flu they wear one so they don’t pass it on to others. Our son lives there and says that’s their mindset.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 27-Jan-22 10:37:07

Of course.

Professor on this morning advising that we continue to act as a community and think of others less able to fight the virus.

That is why I’m going to continue to wear mine.

United we stand!!

I will still be wearing a mask in shops. We don’t have public transport here but if we did and I had no alternative than to use it I would definitely be wearing a mask. Omicron may be milder for most people but as far as I know Delta is still around and who knows if or when another variant will come along. I’m not happy about restrictions being dropped when there are still tens of thousands of cases and hundreds of deaths every day, and worried that we won’t know the true picture with positive lft results no longer being reported. The dropping of the requirement for people travelling to the UK from abroad to be tested so long as they are vaccinated seems plain daft to me. Since when did vaccination prevent anyone from catching covid?

On public transport and in shops I will. And anywhere else it’s required - e.g. in the theatre we went to a week or so ago.
