Elaborate?? Uplifting? Loved This?

Wife and me love our Ballrom Dancing; and a Thursday afternoon tea dance.

Nytsom Not sure why you're confused. I found it uplifting because it was a lighthearted look at how the enjoyment of dancing is shared across the globe.
No, it isn't ballroom, nor any other specific type of dancing, just a host of different cultures coming together and feeling happy. Nowt confusing about that.

It is lovely to see people enjoying dancing, but if I were to be honest (and a pain in the butt!) I would have preferred a similar video showing each nation dancing in its own way and being proud of its cultural heritage, rather than the paternalism of some guy (I am guessing American) swanning round the world getting people to dance in HIS way and produce that sort of amorphous western wiggling about that is in fact not acceptable to many cultures.

No need to apologise Mishap , and although there was a fair bit of western wiggling, (nothing wrong in that nor being American), there were some traditional dances where the western wiggler joined in - even a bit of Scottish dancing.

Thank you Ffinn. I liked it too, and the idea that the enjoyment of music and dance can take people away from their troubles.

He could have come to our belly dancing class! I think it was sad the Syrians had their faces obscured but possibly dancing is considered 'unislamic' in some areas and they could suffer if they were recognised.

Good to see people just having a good time - even in North Korea!

I suppose we've all got so used to there being a "hidden agenda" to everything that we view such things with suspicion. Perhaps it was marketing the theme song. Anyway, though I can see Mishap's point, I have to say I found it quite touching and hope I'm not being naive.
