I don't watch TV and I usually only listen to Radio 4 four so I accept that I'm slightly out of the loop when it comes to modern music. However I was online yesterday and I spotted a link to a Beyonce music video. Now, call me naive, but I was intrigued and surprised by the fact the song (it's called Partition) was labelled 'explicit' and so I clicked on it to see what the deal was - and I was genuinely shocked at the content, both in terms of the video and the song lyrics. I mentioned this to a friend yesterday, as she's the mother of two teenaged girls, and asked her if this was an extreme example of what's going on in the music industry. She told me that Beyonce is mild compared to some and directed me to go home and watch a couple of videos by Niki Minaj - and check out the lyrics.
Oh. My. Gosh. !!!!!
Talk about explicit! Violence, Sex, Drugs - it's all there with bells on.
