Goodmorning all.

Sorry I am late, I am a little worse for wear this morning, had a fantastic day yesterday at my friends wedding, but its not good on a school night, I am like the walking dead this morning trying to get the two little ones off to school and nursery............... yehhh the dress fit.

Good luck everyone.

greenmossgiel Mon 21-Nov-11 09:40:16

Oh brilliant, glass! The dress fitted you! I've lost a pound this week - not a major amount, but I think I'm on the right track now 'eating-wise'. According to susiecb we've got 33 days till Christmas....hope to make the stone by then! smile

Notsogrand Mon 21-Nov-11 13:26:23

Glad you had such a good time glass! Hopefully, you're now back under the duvet with your alarm set for 2pm. smile
I lost a pound too green. As you say, not a lot, but they do add up!

Sbagran Mon 21-Nov-11 14:55:21

sad sad sad Sorry girls (green and notso) I have zapped out your losses as to my horror I have put ON 2lbs this week. Cannot understand it as I haven't sinned except for a few ginger nut biscuits (my downfall!) one afternoon but I hadn't had lunch that day so I thought I would get away with it! Obviously not! To be honest I think I got away too lightly last weekend when, after a short break away I had only put on 1/2 lb. I think some of this week's 2 lbs was from our short break but whether that is the case or not the 2lbs is there sad.

Have been feeling a bit sorry for myself this last week which hasn't helped - 2nd anniversary of Mum's death, DD having more problems with the ex, ongoing problems with a friendship that appears to be over, craziness at work following my week off and then we were told that the lovely residential home where my Mum spent her last couple of years, and which we continued to visit every couple of months or so after Mum died, was closing, which is really sad as it was such a lovely homely residential home. All these individually wouldn't cause me too much grief but altogether they did.

Never mind, will persevere as every ounce lost will help. I have to accept I won't reach my target in the month or so we have left but I will reach it eventually!!! smile

Good luck to everyone else and hope you reach your stone green!

greenmossgiel Mon 21-Nov-11 15:11:23

Sbagran there's worse things than not losing a couple of pounds - you've had a rotten week for sure. Anniversaries such as as your mum's death will knock you for six and to add to that a friendship that seems to be waning, just when you could be doing with it's warmth, will make you feel more sad. The other things that have gone on will 'put the tin hat on it'. Just you be kind to yourself, as I'm sure that's how you've been with all those that you've spoken about here. thanks

Notsogrand Mon 21-Nov-11 18:33:56

Don't worry about the 2lbs Sbagran. It's only a number! smile I doubt if it was the ginger biscuits. I think there are all sorts of factors about the foods we eat combining or not....I dont get it. confused
You've had a dodgy week and now it's ended, I hope you feel lighter in spirit (if not on the scales grin)
It was the anniversary of my husband's death yesterday. To stop 'thinking' I launched myself at a load of household stuff that didn't really need doing, but it kept me on my feet ( and knees) all day! (Good job there aren't many calories in codeine)
You are right though....perseverance is the key!
Take care thanks

glassortwo Tue 22-Nov-11 08:00:15

Well I feel a little more myself today, I used to be able to party all day and night, must be getting old grin

Well done green 1lb is a good result, nice and slow thats the trick.
notso another 1lb you are doing so well. Sending you thanks and a hug. sad

sba its understandable you feeling down these anniversaries do hit us hard
sad thanks and a hug. I think like notso keeping busy is our way of coping (not to mention my coping device food) don't get down 2lb is nothing in the whole scheme, its will just be your holidays catching up on you, try and focus on Christmas this week and we will get you back on track.

Sbagran Tue 22-Nov-11 14:17:49

Thank you all for your wonderful encouragement. All the GNetters I have come across since being a member seem to be such lovely people! smile
I am fine really, it is just every now and again when life catches up! Keeping busy isn't the problem - it is the 'stopping' especially to fit in any 'me' time which is vital in all our lives! No chance for the next week or two as it is wall-to-wall commitments but I will get there.
I am not grossly overweight - just that last stone - so it's not a health issue, simply vanity so I am not overly concerned.
However, having said that I am going to persevere as every single ounce lost is a step nearer superwoman! grin
Thanks and thanks and ((((hugs)))) to you all and good luck everyone else!

lucid Tue 22-Nov-11 16:08:52

Another half pound off this week....slow but going in the right direction.
You'll get there Sbagran we all have bad weeks. Notso those anniversaries are dreadful but we get through them and I'm sure you have many happy memories to make you smile. thanks to you both.

Sbagran Wed 23-Nov-11 14:37:10

So sorry notso I meant to send you a huge ((((hug)))) on my last posting - please forgive me. Well done on coping with your husband's anniversary - they must be tough. I still have mine and can't imagine him not being around.
Sending you lots of thoughts and wishes thanks

Notsogrand Wed 23-Nov-11 14:58:45

Kind wishes are very much appreciated, thank you, lovely people on here. smile

On the subject of 'me' time Sbagran, I planned to do a bit more decorating in the kitchen today, but I've had my eyebrows waxed, hair done and a manicure! Nearly 3pm and I haven't even lifted a roll of masking tape. The light's going now....better wait until tomorrow. grin

greenmossgiel Wed 23-Nov-11 15:22:56

Good on yer, Notso! grin

GoldenGran Wed 23-Nov-11 15:57:46

Wasn't goimg to post until tomorrow, but as sbagran has been brave I will too, I put on a pound, and I know exactly how I did it- I had some cheese in the fridge and I scoffed it, and I had peanut butter on toast just as a little extra. sad notsograndthanks

glassortwo Wed 23-Nov-11 16:06:59

lucid every little bit helps. smile
golden never mind put it behind you, cheese can be a terrible threat to weight loss, I could do without the cheese but the peanut butter would have been another thing altogether grin

GoldenGran Wed 23-Nov-11 16:34:58

GO2 if I'm not cafeful it will all be behind me, but thankssmile

Notsogrand Wed 23-Nov-11 16:56:10

I've been thinking about what to do diet-wise over Christmas. Any thoughts fellow shrinking ladies? grin

I'm tempted to declare myself an amnesty and eat what I like. Say, from Christmas Eve to a couple of days after Boxing Day - weighing myself before and after, and getting back on the diet wagon on Wednesday 28th.

I know it's sad, but I've been thinking about this quite a bit!!!

Does anyone else have a Christmas eating plan?

GrannyK Wed 23-Nov-11 17:36:11

Christmas eatiing plan !!!!???? You are quite right of course Notso, plan ahead etc , but it's more one day at the time with me at the moment.

Would like to say it has been a major success story this week as I lost nearly 3 lbs- yes !!! nearly THREE POUNDS. Howeever , as it was only because I have been really ill with some tummy bug thing and have hardly eaten , I am going to have to be careful not to be too despondent next week when the weight goes back on - which it inevitably will !

Perhaps I can stay on the "nibbling ginger nuts and sipping ginger ale" diet till Christmas ?

Perhaps not !!!

Notsogrand Wed 23-Nov-11 20:47:22

Hope you're feeling a bit better now GrannyK
You may keep a pound or so off when you return to 'normal' eating. smile

I've just seen a tweet saying that stressed spelled backwards is desserts.

Step away from the puddings! shock

Sbagran Wed 23-Nov-11 22:32:05

Thanks goldengran for not letting me be the only one! My downfall is gingernuts. I am keeping away from the biscuit box and then look at grannyk's posting just above !!! Hope you are feeling better now grannyk - if only the gingernuts and ginger ale diet was real! grin
As far as diet plans are concerned - over Christmas and New Year I will be relaxing a bit but just remaining 'aware' - tiz the season to be jolly after all and I never have been good with temptation!
However, with the new year comes the resolutions and I am normally quite good at knuckling down so I am hoping glass will consider renewing her contract as 'GN Diet Guru' - please glass we need you !!! grin

glassortwo Wed 23-Nov-11 22:49:06

grannyK hope you are feeling a little better, I would try to be careful when you start eating properly that you are eating the right things, and you may be ok and keep your 3lb off. Seems wrong saying well done when you have been ill smile

Well I stayed the same this week but I have had a heavy weekend, and another this weekend, I am going to a 80's night with the girls so I will be practising my singing for the singalong and having a glass or two!

In the past if I have been healthy eating over Christmas I have had what I wanted on Christmas Day and Boxing Day then got straight back into it, and you will be surprised on how you are looking forward to getting back to a healthy way of eating as most food over Christmas is heavy and very rich sad

If you all want to call a cease fire for over the holidays we can kick back into it come the 2nd January 2012, and I will try to spend a little more time here and get some tips and recipes on, I have been distracted these last few weeks and have not been very committed!

Notsogrand Thu 24-Nov-11 07:54:49

You've done really well glass to not gain after your heavy weekend. smile

I think a cease fire for a week over the holidays is a good idea. Even if there's no weigh in thread for w/b 26 December, we will probably all still be 'around' if anyone wants to let off steam or needs a bit of food support. wink

susiecb Thu 24-Nov-11 09:29:26

2 lbs off this week and our Slimming World group is open on Boxing Day so definitely going. i have to get another stone and half off in the New Year. Hope you all have a good week.
