I am hoping to try and raise some money to erect the above at out village school. I have found a supplier in Bristol, but would be very interested to hear if others have any experience of this and any supplier recommendations. Also, any advice about grant-making bodies.

My choir will do a benefit gig and we an do all the usual money-raising stuff, but any other idea would be gratefully received.

Does the school actually want an interactive sound sculpture? I commend your fund raising activities but from working in schools know the money could be used more beneficially on other items such as activity toys or sports equipment.Sorry to rain on your parade.

Rain away tattynan! - I have talked with the school and they are thrilled with the idea. We ignore the value of music and arts at our peril, and children need to be exposed to this from a young age and in a form that they can manage and respond to. The value judgement of "more beneficially" implies that activity toys and sports equipment are more important than arts and music education facilities. A fallacy.
