Women's and girls' education should have been sorted by this year, according to the United Nations Millennium goals, along with quite a few other world problems, such as poverty.

Perhaps I have woken up grumpy because it is a grey Monday, but could people please not launch into links without at least a précis of what it is about?
It is IMHO patronising and even intellectually lazy just to write the online equivalent of " Here, read this-" without saying What it's about, Why we might find it interesting and the OP's own opinion.

I'll second that Alea!

Even copying and pasting a short quote helps, so agree with Alea and Lona that some idea of what the link is about helps.

Back to the girls education. From what I remember of the programme about ridding the world of extreme poverty, one of the reasons that people make such progress once they are out of extreme poverty is because women and girls start to be educated at this point.
