Hello, I would love to go on a course or programme with people of a similar age and interest, maybe a language abroad, cookery or something mentally challenging. Have recently done horticulture and garden design but ready for a new challenge whilst OH is off cycling. I am 56. Any ideas or experience of such courses ?

If you have a local U3A they might know of or arrange some.

Many moons ago I went to Florence on a residential italian language course. We did lessons in the morning and were tourists in the afternoon. It was advertised in a Sunday paper. There were students from all different nationalities. Maybe look on line or contact a local language school.

Whislt we were in Sri Lanka, met a Swiss woman from Bern who had been on a two-week cookery course. She intimated that it had been a marvellous experience, especially as she had also learned new English words as well as how to cook!
