I want to cook a recipe today thatI have done before, but now I can't find it! You put belly pork with herbs and a little water into a Lakeland roasting bag and cook very slowly. Three hours on 120 degrees is what springs to mind - does that sound right, do you think?

Sounds good to me, mamie, though I might be inclined to give it longer at such a low temperature. I suppose longer wouldn't do any harm, would it?

No I guess not, but I am probably allowing for the fact that our oven is hot!

Ah. Hope it tastes good. DH is cooking today: steak au poivre with broccoli and asparagus smile. I never think of posh stuff like that. Could this be a device for getting him to cook? wink

I have a delicious Jamie Oliver recipe for slow roasted pork shoulder, it takes six hours to cook but is lovely and needs no carving as it just falls apart - lovely

Ooh, yoga, could you point me to that recipe, please? I love pork and the Rayburn is great for slow, all-day cooking.

bagitha it sounds like it would be a good recipe for the slow cooker when we are out all day,I have a Jamie cookbook so will have a look to see if it is in it somewhere.

Baggy this should take you to it - enjoy!

I meant to add that I've also used boned & rolled spare rib for this recipe - just as good!

Pleased to report three hours on 120 was perfect, completely melt in your mouth. Served with our own Ratte spuds from last summer, the last of our own sprouts and apples in butter with a dash some of our neighbour's Calvados. As the pig and apples were local I think we do well on food miles!
