I know a few of us like an inexpensive lunch and a drink in Wetherspooon's but sometimes when its busy its difficult to get to the bar or if you have a disability. we have been using their new app and miraculously you order your food on your phone and drink and its delivered to you table very quickly. I recommend downloading it.

Read about this but I've not tried it as we don't like our local Withies.

I've never been in a Wetherspoons, but that app sounds like a good idea!

I agree Teetime My daughter has this app. I met her one evening and we went to Wetherspoons for a meal. It was Friday night and the pub was heaving. DD ordered food on her app and it was delivered to our table very quickly. She also then ordered a couple of drinks afterwards and while people were queueing at the bar, our drinks were delivered straight away.

Sounds a good idea but I hate Wetherspoons .

Some time ago 8 of us went to Wetherspoons for a meal.
The time it took to deliver the meal was unacceptably. The manager was very apologetic but that was all.
I complained to head office and they reimbursed the whole cost of the meal plus a £20 voucher.

I love Wetherspoons. Our local one is great. We are regular customers smile

Why do you hate Wetherspoons nanabilly? Our local one is quite nice (non drinkers have their own entrance and "space" - not demarcated, it's just the way it is.

I like (and only ever have) their "Avocado Smash" breakfast with a poached egg, I don't have it on a bagel, but on toast. It's about £3 what's not to like? I'd never been in there but my walking group companions are regulars and got me involved.

I agree with you Grannyknot - what's not to like? I think in the past, because Wetherspoons is so cheap, it used to attract heavy drinkers (especially the city centre ones here) which put people off. Nowadays the pubs are much nicer, the food and drink is still cheap and usually very nice.

This app sounds a good idea as service is usually very slow in Wetherspoons.
I rarely go now but, I found Wetherspoons were fine in small towns but many branches in London were full of scruffy drunk older men.

We like Wethies just not our local smile

We've been to Wetherspoons all over the country. However we do now find the prices are not as cheap as before and we've defected to Marstons pubs. Unfortunately for us there isn’t any in our area, but when out and about in our caravan we seek them out.

Sounds brilliant. Not much chance of anything like that here in technophobe Germany. But many's the time I've been tempted to phone a restaurant after waiting for ages at one of their tables. ("You see that couple at the table by the window....?")

We have downloaded the app and sat in our Wetherspoons like a couple of excited children, ordering our food and drink and waiting to see what happened. Sure enough, within 5 minutes of ordering, our drinks were brought over and shortly afterwards our food arrived. We were SO pleased with ourselves.

I thought of the app but they of course want your card details and I never order anything via my phone only via my PC at home for security reasons.

I don't like them because all of the ones we have tried the food has been cheap and not very cheerful. They all have their own atmospheres ,each of them quite different but the meals were all naff , we tried allsorts from the menu and none of them up to scratch for us. So we now avoid them like they plague , we did give them a good chance.

I dislike the city ones that I have been in but our local one (which won a national award for the loos!) is very nice. Don't go there very often but DH's birthday treat is their full heart attack breakfast.
