We've got some leftover veg bits to use up so I'm doing a stirfry with cashew nuts throw in. Tomorrow is Saturday curry night and my OH is making his own recipe rogan josh which is just delicious. What are you having?

EllanVannin Fri 15-Mar-19 15:22:06

My usual home-made chips, fish and garden peas tonight.

Probably chicken kiev and new potatoes tomorrow.

On Fridays we always have steak- tonight rib eye - with chips, garlic mushrooms and roasted cherry tomatoes or salad and maman potatoes. It might be fillet with a stilton sauce next week.

Tomorrow we are having a takeaway curry - the first for about 2 years.

I am on a diet day so having a large pile of shredded cabbage with turkey mince, pretending it is Spag Bol.

Gonegirl Fri 15-Mar-19 15:45:10

As I made carrot and potato soup for lunch, I have done quite enough cooking for one day. So it's fish fingers and frozen chips for us. DH can add baked beans to his if he wants.

Slimming world diet so it's salad with a jacket potatoe , followed by a meringue nest with raspberrys.

GChildren to stay while Mum is off skiing, so home made chicken pie, which they always ask for, with diced roast potatoes, broccoli and carrots, followed by home made meringues and lemon curd with whipped cream and strawberries. I have just made the fish pie for tomorrow, and will follow that up with making a pudding of their choice. Sunday steak and chips and cheesecake, as a rush after Church. Hope that will keep them happy! grin

Roast chicken , stuffing ,sausages , black pudding , potatoes and sprouts followed by Tesco now depfrosted mago bits
I am constantly amazed by the prices of even free range chicken . When I was growing up just post war and for quite a long time afterwards chicken was a real treat and expensive .

Aubergine and spicy peanut curry ( low carb)

Gonegirl sounds good to me. I made carrot and lentil soup for lunch so I'll go with that too.
B9exchange you are sooo good!

ninathenana Fri 15-Mar-19 16:54:14

As usual for a Friday it's curry tonight.

Greyduster Fri 15-Mar-19 16:54:23

Stir fried steak with mushrooms, peppers, spring onions and bamboo shoots, accompanied by egg fried rice. Tomorrow we are having chilli con carne, but it would gladly trade it for your fish pie, B9! DH doesn’t like it so more for me!

Greyduster Fri 15-Mar-19 16:55:48

I also have to say that home made chicken pie is my grandson’s favourite too!

Sealover Fri 15-Mar-19 17:03:28

Slow cooker moussaka, yummy, made earlier than just switched on this afternoon. Loving new slow cooker, tomorrow chicken curry also slow cooked.

CanadianGran Fri 15-Mar-19 17:06:15

Mini-pizzas. We are also having small grandchildren for overnight, so purchased some frozen bread dough in dinner-roll size, and fixings for pizza.
The kiddies can make them, and I will shred the cheese and clean up the mess!

GC are funny, I am hugely honoured that they will actually try new things round here, probably because they know they will starve otherwise! The fish pie (salmon, cod and prawns in cheese sauce with mashed potato sprinkled with more cheese) I have made them once before and they reluctantly tried it, then DGS said he 'liked the meat'!

Someone once claimed that it takes six goes at trying something before you can decide if you like it or not, and this is what I keep telling them! grin

I've made big portions, do pop round!

sodapop Fri 15-Mar-19 17:21:48

We are having home made pizza too with salad. Chicken pie sounds good to me B9 sounds like you have a busy few days ahead.

M0nica Fri 15-Mar-19 17:32:37

A pitta pizza (mushrooms and cheese), side salad and fruit. Sealover we had the slow cooked moussaka for lunch.

Nandalot Fri 15-Mar-19 17:40:54

Hooray, it’s fish Friday at the village pub. They have it once a month and it is the best! You can have it take away and ours have just arrived!

Badenkate Fri 15-Mar-19 17:42:31

Although I'm now doing ww, I've got stuff in the freezer I refuse to just throw away. So since today was weigh day, and it's all done by points, we're having steak pie with ww homemade chips and veg.

tanith Fri 15-Mar-19 17:47:01

I’m having a Cornish pasty, mash, spinach and carrots. Tomorrow I’ve defrosted pork loin, I’ll make a creamy mushroom sauce, rice and green beans.

tiredoldwoman Fri 15-Mar-19 17:52:32

Diet's on here too , so I've just had a Southern Grill chicken thing with creamed cauliflower. It was so good that I licked my plate !
There's still a serving of cauli so I'll have that with fish tomorrow .

Charleygirl5 Fri 15-Mar-19 17:55:44

Tonight spag bol which I have yet to make. I do not have any red wine, I will probably survive. It will be the same tomorrow evening and I will freeze any leftovers.

jusnoneed Fri 15-Mar-19 18:59:52

Had a quick meal tonight, sausages/bubble & squeak using last nights left over veg.
Earlier I made up a pie filling for tomorrow, left over roast chicken plus bacon and mushroom in a nice chicken gravy. Will make shortcrust pastry and assemble sometime during the day ready for evening meal.

Urmstongran Fri 15-Mar-19 19:05:41

Sorry for me allowing myself to get fat so I’m on a fast day today. Had a piece of toast at 2pm and now I’m warming up some lentil dhal soup.

Ah well, soon be morning!
