DH asked did I want anything before he left for Golf. I immediately thought “bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, scrambled egg, and fried potato slices”.
I won’t have that for breakfast, but I do really fancy it sometimes.
I can almost smell it cooking! ? ?

What’s your usual breakfast?
What would you love to have?

Pantglas2 Tue 28-Jul-20 07:26:52

Yours + black pudding, Puzzler!

Usually toast and marmalade. I love American pancakes crispy bacon and maple syrup.
My son recently made me scrambled eggs with chorizo on sourdough toast and a blob of sour cream......delicious.
I love breakfast.
I am very greedy.?

Yours, Puzzler but with fried egg, fried bread and potato scones, instead of scrambled eggs and potatoes.

Heart attack inducing, so a rare treat. ?

My usual is gluten free cornflakes or gf toast and marmalade.

Occasionally at the weekend I have gf pikelets with syrup and we often have sausage, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms for Saturday brunch. It would include black pudding if I could get gf ones. sad

Usual is porridge with fresh fruit.
Sometimes fancy a bacon and egg butty.

You forgot the baked beans and toast. I do love a full English but only ever eat it if we are off on a journey, just too many calories. My wife's breakfast is a bowl of fresh berries like strawberries, blue berries, raspberries, & black berries. She adds melon, kiwi fruit & gooseberries if they are in season and a dollop of yoghurt on top.

Mine is a bowl of porridge, made with half milk half water. I neither like nor dislike it. But it does fill me up without piling on the weight.

Last week we 'broke out' of lockdown and went to the pub with another couple. I had an all day breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it.

After being isolated from other people for over four months it was a real treat and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was a one way system and extra staff cleaning and serving.

I only have that type of breakfast if we are away in a hotel, fat chance of that at the moment! My husband does a very nice scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, usually at Christmas accompanied by some champagne. My usual breakfast is Greek yogurt, sliced banana and honey and Hazelnuts or sometimes I have summer berries or other fruits with it. When I was going to the gym before the lockdown, I had porridge because it had the ability to keep me going for quite a while, not because I liked it. I do love some toast, probably too much sad so most of the time I try to steer clear of the toaster.

We have a full Scottish breakfast only on Sundays. I must say we both look forward to it immensely.?
My favourite breakfast, however, is avocado on toast mashed roughly with salt, lemon juice and finely chopped chives or spring onions. Mmmmm.

Nortsat Tue 28-Jul-20 08:14:14

Yes Puzzler I’d love sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms. Coffee and wholewheat toast with butter... thank you, whenever you’re ready.

That was an invitation? ... yes?

Funnily Terribull if I have porridge before I go to bed, I have a really good night's sleep. Don't suppose it does much for weight though.

I’m glad I’m not alone wanting a plateful of calories right at the start of the day ?

My breakfast rarely changes, it’s porridge or 2 weetabix and blueberries.

But we can dream - so. my Aga is heated, the pans are oiled and I’m inviting you all round to mine in 30 mins. Nortsat or Mary, can one of you bring black pudding please as I’m clean out! Pants I’ll keep yours on a low burner as you’ll be a while getting here ?

It can be full English / full Scottish it’s all inclusive ?

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 08:49:44

Espee I must try avocado on toast, it seems popular and yet I’ve not had it, but I do like avocado. ?

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 08:51:40

BTW the Aga is a dream, I’m not “wealth signalling” ?

LadyGracie Tue 28-Jul-20 08:56:25

Yes please, if you’re offering grin

GagaJo Tue 28-Jul-20 09:00:41

Back bacon, good quality sausage, fried egg, mushrooms, toast, builders tea. Mmmm Never have it unfortunately.

Today I had porridge. Worthy but bland. hmm

midgey Tue 28-Jul-20 09:01:56

On my way!

Marydoll Tue 28-Jul-20 09:04:00

Puzzler, I will bring onion Lorne sausage and potato scones. Sorry, but I hate black pudding!

Charleygirl5 Tue 28-Jul-20 09:05:55

I have the same every morning- rain or shine. Two slices of toast with a banana mashed on it or if no bananas, homemade marmalade (made by a friend).

There is a lot of a Scottish breakfast I do not like so mine would be unsmoked bacon, black pudding, scrambled egg with cheese, toast and an unlimited amount of coffee. About twice a year I have that for an evening meal.

Nortsat Tue 28-Jul-20 09:12:30

Puzzler I had a brainwave (I hope you agree) - if MaryD is bringing Lorne sausage and potato scones, how about if I bring oranges and champagne and make us all a Bucks Fizz? ?

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 09:17:46

I do know Lorne sausage, the square one. Very Tasty.
I don’t think it’s so popular in England.
DH’s uncle would bring it when he visited which was every year at the beginning of the Glasgow fortnight, on his way to his English south coast holiday.
He also brought pies which had steak and whole sausages in - is there a name for them? ?

Puzzler61 Tue 28-Jul-20 09:19:52

O.m.g. Nortsat. Yes please! ? ? ?
And a vat of coffee for Charleygirl. ☕️ ☕️ ☕️

Pudding123 Tue 28-Jul-20 09:24:20

Overnight oats for me with blueberries...couldn't taste a thing as still no taste but feel my sense of smell seems a little better (I smelt newly moan grass and car exhaust fumes on Friday I almost jumped for joy).joy
I fantasize what I will have if/when my taste comes back today it is simple ...sourdough roast and marmalade..tomorrow it could be really good bacon, poached egg and mushrooms.Enjoy your breakfasts all of you .
