Having pre-cooked the pasta and sliced and sweated all the vegetables, I checked the seasoning and decided to add a little more black pepper.

It was one of those black peppercorn mill thingies - a new one which seemed a little stiff to turn.

CRACK! The top came off and half a jar of peppercorns deposited themselves all over the vegetable and pasta mix. angry

I picked out as many as I could and decided to make the sauce extra cheesy to detract from the pepper (hopefully)

That was until I went to the fridge to get out some Red Leicester as we don't have any cheddar and discovered Tesco had substituted our normal cheese with Red Leicester, chipotle and......peppercorns!

I haven't told DH. grin

I’ll have some, merlotgran - I love black pepper! Always add loads to my own helping.

DH said it was very tasty but wondered why there was so much lead shot in a vegetarian dish. grin
