Hi all
Which of the milk alternatives do you think tastes most like cows milk? I don't really want all my hot drinks and morning cereal to taste too different.
Any suggestions please?
TIA

I only use cows milk, but I did once have custard which had been made with oat milk and I couldn't tell the difference.

You can make oat milk at home as well, I'm sure the method is online somewhere.

My OH has settled on the lighter soya milk after trying various types with varying success. Isn’t there a zero fat milk brought out by Arla available now? Bit pricey I think.

We have family members who cannot use dairy milk and they prefer Oat or Almond which I find does work well for cooking, and I always buy the unsweetened variety. OH would categorically refuse any non dairy but I don't let on when cooking and he does not seem able to tell the difference but then he is incredibly fussy about everything food wise!

If it is for lactose reasons, you can buy lactose free milk which tastes exactly the same. If not, try them all smile Rude health do a massive selection of alternatives

I use lactose free semi-skimmed and also have some long life oat milk in the fridge. I think you are going to have to work your way through a few different kinds as it is such a personal thing and some will suit your digestion better than others.

I usually drink black coffee, but if I fancy a change then Oatly cream is excellent. I've also just discovered Elmlea Plant, which is even nicer (imho!).

My family all like the oat milk delivered by the milkman best.
It’s more expensive but actually not bad.
More like dairy in the mouth than lots of competition.

Soya milk is a good alternative to cows milk for me. It doesn't taste the same but in a coffee i don't feel a big difference
