Hi,
Let's lighten up for the weekend
Sometimes we think of where we really come from and most people have a favourite author/authoress who writes or wrote about it. Who would be your choice for your home patch?
Melvyn Bragg automatically comes to mind for mine but my favourite is George MacDonald Frasers{Flashman}" Quartered safe out here". A novel based on the Border Regiment as was, serving in Burma during W11, he captures the men and their feelings, attitudes and localness so well. There is also a glossary of colloquial terms in the back.
To think that London, or anywhere else for that matter, does not belong to any one demographic
