I have a 20 year old fern [the big leaved type] in a pot . It doesn"t seem to doing much so far , which seems a bit unusual so I thought I would ask if anyone else was having similiar problem. I live in Suffolk , don"t know if that has anything to do with it

Nonu Have you tried re potting your fern? I find mine like cool and shady spots around the house. I give mine a good soak in the bath now and then or put them outside if we have heavy rain. They seem to thrive.

When I had indoor ferns, I watered them with cold tea from the pot. They thrived in a north-west facing room.

Like Sook I put a few of my pot plants, incluing ferns. out for a good soak in the rain every now and then. There's a spot near my back door where a fern thrives, and I have a table near it on which I place the plants. If the fern knows where it's happy, that's a good sign.
