He had tweeted that Gardeners World will be on BBC 2 this evening (Saturday 10th).

And he hopes you enjoy it.

Callistemon

I really enjoyed the piece on lawns and lawnmowers.

The old fashioned ones looked back breaking!

Ellianne my father's very first job was as an under-gardener on a large estate and he had to weed the lawns (on his hands and knees). His father was the Head Gardener.

Callistemon

Ellianne my father's very first job was as an under-gardener on a large estate and he had to weed the lawns (on his hands and knees). His father was the Head Gardener.

As was mine before the First World War. It was a large estate in Somerset.

He had one Sunday off a month.

He never lost his love of gardening, and passed it on to me.

I did so enjoy last nights programme, a little peace of tranquility in this mad world.
