Protecting climber from mower/strimmer - any ideas

I want to plant a couple of climbers (jasmine) up my veranda posts. They are close to my lawn and I think I will need to protect the plant bases from my DH's overenthusiastic strimming and mowing

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this that won't look unattractive.

The only things I can find online are the guards they put on young trees.

I did think about planting the plants in a plant pot with the bottom cut out and the top couple of inches sticking out of the soil.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

This? I think it’s called a tree trunk guard

How about a Brocken half of a terracotta pot. I use these to protect my clematis roots from too much sun.

To explain further, use a large pot and stick the lower half in the ground, slope the top edge against the plant. I’m away from home so can’t take a photo.

I've used some heavy old roof tiles from the apex part of the roof .

I found them on a skip .

Otherwise , a broken terracotta pot is a great idea .

A piece of chicken wire or an garden fork/spade strategically placed. That's what I do. The fork/spade sometimes has to be repositioned.

How about something like this, mostly above soil level and curved around?
Bamboo edging

What shysal suggests or log roll placed around the stem/trunk.

Flexible lawn edging might be a good option, like this picture which is sold in B&M and some garden centres.

We use slate roof tiles, pushed into the soil, as edging.

Thanks everyone.

I am favouring the slate roof tiles, if I can get some.

Otherwise I will probably go for the broken plant pot idea.

I didn't want to use anything that would be too obvious
