Remember the expression, heart throb?
Mine was Ed Byrne from 77 Sunset Strip and I also fancied Joe from Bonanza.
And don't get me started on Pat Boone! (Is he still alive?)

Tutankhamen !

Montgomery Clift - gay, of course, like nearly all the men I fancied most.

Elvis aaahhh sigh blush

Grannyknot Fri 05-Oct-12 19:07:05

heart throb grin what a wonderful expression. Snap, glitabo, my first heart throb was Elvis. What a voice, what a smile, what moves! Swoon.

Tommy Steele blush! I think I was about 7, when he made my wee heart go all a-flutter when he sang 'Little White Bull'...aahh...sigh....!

Rowdy Yates (Clint Eastwood)in Rawhide, Clint Walker who played as Cheyenne in the program of that name and my favourite Steve Mcqueen who by all accounts was absolutely not a nice person.

Ooh yes, Rowdy Yates...and Clint Walker...and why wasn't Steve McQueen not a nice person, tanith? What did he do wrong?? confused.

Robert Horton who played Flint McCullough in Wagon Train, then Paul Newman after I'd seen Exodus.

Jeni grin. I can't actually remember who mine was, the memory is really shot! I do remember my mother turning off the tv when Tom Jones came on as his dancing was 'unsuitable' for me to watch. I had no idea what she was talking about - must have been unawakened wink that made me curious though.

Marelli Fri 05-Oct-12 19:24:11

When any kissing/racy scene appeared on telly, my mother used to sit up very straight in her chair, put her knees together and draw her cardigan closer around her bosoms....grin.

absentgrana Fri 05-Oct-12 19:25:42

No idea. Far too long ago. Now the next heart-throb, that's much more interesting…

Marelli Fri 05-Oct-12 19:31:47

Well, Lurkio - marsco - took a bit of a fancy to a chap working on Gally's new garden gate, actually, absent! Lurkio thought he was the gardener...shades of Lady Chatterley perhaps? hmm

POGS Fri 05-Oct-12 19:57:58

Definitely Little Joe in Bonanza. Elvis too. Had a mad moment in teens for Donny Osmond and I still think he is handsome.

It has to be George Clooney now though. blush

marsco Fri 05-Oct-12 20:02:15

More like Desperate Housewives hee hee [ grin]

marsco Fri 05-Oct-12 20:04:57

Well that did not work did it , will have to practice doing smileys .

Marelli Fri 05-Oct-12 20:09:21

Marsco, just to let you know...if you want to do an 'emoticon', you do the square open bracket [ put the word grin or whatever, then the closed square bracket ]. That's how you get your grins etc. grin!
Great to see you posting, by the way wink!

Gally Fri 05-Oct-12 20:09:39

Marsco there's a gap between your first bracket and grin grin

Gally Fri 05-Oct-12 20:12:59

Richard Chamberlain was my first heart throb - gay again, but when I was 12 I didn't know anything about that! I collected photos, magazine articles and even bought a book all about him and Dr Kikldare; I'm going all weak at the knees just remembering shock

JessM Fri 05-Oct-12 20:18:16

Cliff, when I was 9 and he was a very pretty boy. Didn't last long, my interest in Cliff.

petallus Fri 05-Oct-12 20:42:01

Tex Ritter when I was about 8.
Elvis when I was 13.

That guy who played Robinson Crusoe in the television series. And the one who played Humphrey in The Children of the New Forest.

crimson Fri 05-Oct-12 21:23:31

.....Just found a website about it and he really was gorgeous blush; Robinson Crusoe, that is.

tanith Fri 05-Oct-12 21:28:54

Well from a few things I've read about him he was on drugs for years, he was a wife beater, a drunk , very difficult to work with and a womaniser. He also it seemed had an appalling childhood during which he was abandoned by first his father whom he never knew and then his mother, then ran away to get away from beatings to join a circus at 14. It seems a mostly unhappy man who died way too young at 50.

That last post was to answer Marelli's question..
