I've only just discovered this event happened on Friday and wondered if anyone took part? The objective was to write all the details of that day, anonymously, to be studied by social scientists. The project has been running for decades - remember Victoria Woods Housewife 49?.

My NWR were invited to take part, as everyone else was, if they knew about it. It really appealed to me and I had every intention of doing so. However I had a really busy day and the thought of recording it all changed my mind. I regret it now.

No I didn't see that which sounds very interesting but I was on the golf course I don't suppose they would be interested in that.

I didn't know about this. I would love to take part. I wonder if there's a way they can remind you, before the day.

No I didn't know anything about it, I'm sad that I could have taken part because I have read all the mass observation diaries edited by Simon Garfield, they are fascinating. It's always something I'd like to have taken part in. Last year I wrote to them and asked if I could become an MO diarist and was told they have enough people now.

I can't see anything that says the emailed entries had to be sent on the day, or any deadline come to that - did I miss it? I'm thinking I might write it up and send it anyway. They want to know what we were doing so playing golf would be just as interesting Teetime.

Well, I've written my diary entry for last Friday, added a bit about me and my situation and added the permission statement and have emailed it to MO. I'm sure it will sit in some digital archive and never be seen but I did my bit. I doubt it's too late if anyone else wanted to contribute - my email was acknowledge without a 'too late' message.
